SAFTY
What part of the safty needs to be removed for it not to work ? When I cock my Condor and hold the safty bar forward it will not set the stricker . I did not know it could be disabled . I only shoot targets and its wearing out my fingers . Also this is my first post here althought I have been watching from the side lines for a while . Is there a spell check with this site ? Marvin

I got a chance to work on it today . I removed the entire safety . I had to move the sear spring forward to get the striker to set . The rifle is stock as far as strikers and spring so I guess I just got the odd ball . Marvin
I removed mine it was one of the first things i did i really did not like it at all

Marvin ,Sorry I was no help….You are removing the larger of the two springs aren’t you???

No that is not the case . I had the guard in place . The bolt and striker will go all the way back but the sear is not holding the stricker unless the safty block sets it first . Even with the spring in place or the rifle in stock forum if I press the safety bar forward so the block will not hold the sear up it will not cock and hold . The trigger works fine and is smooth and I have double check that the other springs are in the right places . First spring next to trigger blade then a open guide hole the the next two springs are in the guide holes as pictured on various sites . Marvin
I removed the spring from my safety today…that did the job,
find myself still going thru the motions…
Mel are you using the trigger guard screw,to hold the plate
in place,after removing the spring …what I’m try to say is the screw
is to long with out the trigger guard…..it hits the hammer spring and
hammer…….just thought you may have tryed the action with out puting
the rifle back together….I did this ,,couldn’t get it to cock….

I just removed the actual wire safety thingamabob with the red cap, everything else (except the little spring) went back in.
Dont know what I am doing wrong but the stricker will not set if I remove the spring that sets the safety block . Marvin
I’ve removed the safety completely and Idon’t miss it.It is easy to decock the rifle.
Good practice dictates that you should not touch the trigger unless you intend to shoot.
While I was removing the safety parts I did a quick polish and lube of the sear bearing surfaces,just enough to remove the rough factory finish.I used Gunslick as a lube on the polished faces and pivots.The trigger is now much more positive,smooth ,and predictable,a big improvement on out of the box.
Yes, if you pull the trigger or otherwise do something that causes the sear to disengage.
I just bought a .25 barrel from leemark, and he sent me a heavy spring with it ( to use until I get a heavier hammer). He said the safety would be harder to use with the heavier spring, but most just remove it. I have not installed the barrel and spring yet, however, I would like to keep my safety.
If the safety is removed and the breech is open, will the hammer release?

you can shave the safety spring a bit to achieve a softer disengagement.

Thanks for the replies . I would rather have it but in this cold weather its so stiff its killing my fingers after several hundred shots . I have lubed it but its still stiff. What about the spell check ? Is there one here that I have over looked ? Marvin

I have managed to create a semi-safety on mine.
The saftey it still fitted to the rifle but i did not remove the spring tht i believe others have.
if i hold my rifle with the barrel facing upwards when cocking it the safety will set itself. if the rifle is flat or facing down it will not set when cocking.
very handy.
