Sam Yang pellets… Opinions?
Ordered a tin of EunJins from PA, and they sent me a tin of Sam Yangs. đ
Holy Cripes, they’re HUGE! 32 grs is mighty whoppin’ heavy.
I only put a couple through the gun so far, shooting from the hip in the garage, more than anything just to see if the gun would actually send them out the barrel.
So what’s everyone think of these things in a Talon? Let me know if they’re worth playing around with, otherwise I’ll just hang on to them to include in my upcoming Airgun Garage Sale. đ

they are a little tight in my talon SS, but shoot very well, and hit very hard
Thanks Ribbonstone. I’ll probably end up trying a few for sh.its and giggles. My plan is to sight in my laser with Kodiaks, then after that maybe I’ll see what kind of holdover (or PW increase) I need for the Sam Yangs.
Differnt caliber, but they do make a heavier weight pointed pellet. usually just a little optimistic on weight, but not all that much (would expect the 32 grain pellets to be closer to 31).
Heavy weights usually earn a little more energy, but are moving much slower. Just as an example, if you rifle was set to shoot 14.3gr. at 1000fps (31.8 foot pounds), would expect the 31gr. pellets to be going about 700-710fps. (+34 foot pounds).
No, these are different than the EunJins in your pic (those are the ones I ordered from PA in the first place). These are pointed. And if you believe the posted weights, the EJs are 28grs and the Yangs are 32 grs, which is quite a bit of difference.
Sam Yang and Eun Jin…same pellets, different tin. Theyâve gotten better than when they first came out, they went to a harder alloy and a cleaner/sharper profile.
These are 5mmâs, looking at old-new-old-new from left to right:
Havenât had any stability issues with them even when launched from rifles thant can barely make 500fps. Arenât match-grade pellets, but have shot very well in several guns.
May find that they are tight in an AirForce barrel, which can make them difficult to load.

Used these pellets for one of those âbet you canât hit thisâ challenge awhile back, using these pellets starting off at 1030 fps. Normally a penny will just shatter when you smack it hard, but this time I drilled it. Considering the distance turned out to be 46 yards, figure the pellet to be going something like 840-850 fps when it connected. I keep it in the range kit, just to tease the guy who made the challenge.

A little clarification.
the 28 gr. EJs are domed, the 32 gr EJs are pointed in .22 caliber.
The 35 (I think) gr are domed, and the 42-43gr are pointed in .25 caliber.
Eunjin and SamYang are the same pellet. The latest batches are coming with the SamYang label.
