Yes, it’s kinda long but you can get used to it. Here’s mine after it was installed. Not exactly a “point and shoot” set up, but man, is she quiet. 😛
Won’t need a scope either. Just put the end of the shroud beside the squirrel up in the tree and shoot.:P

8 feet is kind of long for a shroud isn’t it? I mean, seems like the maximum effective length would be shorter than that….

My first try at aluminum tubing was at the Do It Center. After I bought it, I found the ID of the tubing was actually off center, with a thin wall on one side and a thicker wall on the other, making it impossible to turn a cap that would be flush all the way around the tubing surface.
I found a metal supplier right down the street that carries 8′ of black anodized 🙂 tubing with a perfect ID center for 3 bucks LESS than the Do It Center. Obviously I should have went to the supplier first. The black anodize is a great color match for the gun.

it was a bit over priced but not to bad, I would have 3 round trip drive to get to a metal or welding supply so the 5 extra bucks I payed wsa cheep when you factor in the 10 miles to the gallon I get in the truck

If stock has a tag, it usually means its from a hardware store – who charge a lot more than a metal supplier.
I try and go to a metal supplier for stuff, but sometimes I dont have the time to drive or want to wait for soemthing from online… plus if its 1 peice of tube then why wait/pay gas when its just a few dollars.
