Q:

Scope height

My .25 arrived today. I have a Hawke Sidewinder HK 4026 (6.5-20×42) to put on it.
I know that most rifles you want the scope as low as possible but bullpuos are slightly different. Is there an I deal height for the scope to be sat at?
I am looking
Leupold 30mm PRW Weaver Rings medium height.
Any options on height would be good.
Thanks

Very true!

See the following for an overview I have found when I was looking for lowest possible rings to put on my MFR and Veles
http://www.shooters.com.au/inc/html/ring_height_comparisons.htm

Regards, Mike

“low” “medium” and “high” are not the same between different ring manufacturers, I use High rings on my Cricket, they build 1mm less than medium UTG rings. So a medium UTG ring would put the scope higher than my High rings.

:2cents:

Just ran into this old thread and thought i could. Contribute for the greater good 😛
I have bushnell 6500’s on my r3, both in warne maxima qd rings, 30 mm ofcourse
However, one is medium height and the other is low.
Low fits me best.

So i guess it depends on how your face is build and personal preference…

Just my 2 cnts

I have actually used Leupold PRW’s in Medium height on a 4026 on the Eddy .25. Soze turned me onto them and he uses them as a well on his Eddy. It is They are great rings. For me that height is very comfortable and not too high.

I believe Ted uses the Fx adjustable rings so that may dictate height as in order to be able to adjust as much they may need to be high to begin with.

Comfort will be the best factor.

Thanks.
I do have medium on my Matador .177 but that has a 50mm Objective lense. I feel it’s ok but I have never tried high mounts.
This is a smaller Objective lense.
When you look at Teds holdover vids his scope is quite high.
I haven’t got any high ones to compare.
Just thought I woukd see if most shoot medium or high mounts.

Hi mate, I have my PM2 in medium rings and the height is just about perfect, I may add a small shim to the breech to raise my cheek a touch and protect my good looks from the cold metal 🙂 lol

Medium rings should do you just fine for a good cheek weld.
