Scope Help Needed
First post here, so apologies if it is messed up 😀
I am looking at getting a Talon SS to cure the varmint infestation I have in my garden and fruit trees. Most of the shooting will be done from 10 to 30 yards at squirrels.
Secondarily, it would be good to extend the range to 50-100 yards to intercept the intruders as the cross the perimeter. 😆
Which scope would you recommend – a 3-9 or a 4-16?
I don’t have a ton of experience with scopes and could not find much about this already posted.

A 4×16 is a nice scope and if you get a laser you could nail the short stuff.
Well: Welcome to the Nut house. The Talon SS should serve you, my opinion 10-30 yard is too short range for the SS, 40+ yards is the norm for most here.
If you plan to zero @ 10 yards shims or a drooper mount will be required. Either mag range is good. If you plan on shooting mice @ 100 yard, get more magnification.
What is your budget range for a Scope? Prices range from $65 to thousands of $$$$$$
Brand name or country of origin, reticle type. Especially the Warranty and dealer reputation?
Scopes are trial and error, Look through as many as possible before you buy. What works for me, may not work for you.

I have a 4.5-14 mil-dot scope. I use the dots for <15 yard shots and a laser that is sighted for 12 yards to aid in quick acquisition at close range.
