Q:

Seer Adjustment Mod

It’s not the best it can be so I modded my seer engagement screw. It backed out even with a second O-ring behind it so I decided to try a different route. I used a section of ball point pen spring in place of the two O-rings. Overall it is tighter than what it was. The problem is that the screw is too short and doesn’t have enough threads to keep it rigid in the hole. The hole is .314″ deep and threaded to the bottom. The screw only has .156″ of threads and half of that is back out for my current seer engagement adjustment with a overall length of .235″. Ideally, a longer screw with more thread engagement and a spring would work better. The screw is a M3X6 so I’m going to find a M3X something. Not sure whats available here. It’s a piss poor design to be included in such a great gun. 🙄

You know who you sound like???? NAG,NAG,NAG. I don’t have to take this abuse on the forum. Go on to Mexico and come back with a better attitude, oh yea, what time will you be coming by to pick me up? I’ll buy the first round of Margaritas. 😉

Twenty hours later……………If you’d just have listened to me!

Well, I checked Home Depot, and Lowes. They didn’t have exactly what I was looking for, so I stopped by a computer repair shop and scavenged through their spare screw bowls. I picked out a few that might work…..long story short I ended up degreasing the threaded hole and factory screw and went back together with the spring and some blue loctite. The combination should work… :confusedn:

You got that laptop in your truck, let your fingers do the walking….

Our TSC store has a full supply of metric screws including Stainless metric screws….no shit!

Thanks for the help guys, while I’m at “work” tomorrow I’ll swing by ACE first and go from there. I did a search for the screws last night and one of the options was a computer repair supply store. I guess all the boards and cards in a lot of the computers are held in place with similar screws. A guy at work builds computers from components and is going to bring some screws tomorrow. Never thought finding a stupid little screw would be such a waste of time. LOL

Dear Smackle….

I’ll check the local store and see if they have anything longer than M3X6. Stay tuned.

I am putting my money on Ace. They have every size nut and bolt known to mankind.

Sounds easy enough, I tried three nut and bolt stores today and no luck there. Haven’t tried TSC yet but I think Zonk is full of crap on that one. I won’t give up easy though. I’ll check out ACE, Home Depot and Lowes tomorrow.
Smacklegracker, LOL

Hell our local TSC farm store even carries them.

SmakleGracker….Why not take the screw to your local hardware store and find one a bit longer? Granted it’s metric, but even here in Toad Suck we can find such things. I agree, two or three threads is not good enough.

Hoot, I think the blue would work great but I think the screw still needs to be longer to add some additional support. It probably only has 3-4 threads making contact. You’d think that since they used a spring on the second stage tension screw they might have used the same method on the seer adjuster instead of a cheesy O-ring attempt. :confusedn:

Red or Blue Lok-Tite????
