Q:

Selph valve

Okay so shortly after I purchased the valve I figured I would run into problems eventually with all the talk on this forum. Well eventually is here. I have run into a different problem than everyone else though.

I was going to load my rifle yesterday and when I pushed the breech forward the stem and spring came with the breech out of the valve. I pulled it out and looked at it. From what I remember when I installed it I think the stem screws into a nylon piece at the base of the valve (been a while since I installed it so I may be mistaken). It looks like all the threads pulled out of that nylon piece.

So my question is what the hell do I do now? Is there a way to fix this so it doesnt happen again?

Thanks

My stem is fine it hasnt broken like the others I have seen. It just pulls right out of my valve body. Is there any fix for this?

Thanks for the help all!

The valve seal is threaded on 6-32 and is not a push fit Blod.

I committed to making new stems and still have every intention of doing so.
That little thread is giving me fits as a die cut thread is not accurate enough and to lathe cut them is gonna be tedious 🙂

Great valve design but poorly executed by Selph.
Has great closing feedback and so I would expect it to be the most efficient for the power output of any valve to date.

Walter….

There are threads at the end opposite the top hat. Very small fine threads.

If it doesnt thread in how do you keep it from pulling out?

Brad didn’t screw his seals on dude. They’re just push on as per the origonal stems. But origonal stems/valves have the spring n retainer to hold the seal in place.
Later, Sean.

id order a blod valve while he has a few on the forsale list
