Q:

Seriously needing help!!

So I am just starting to get into Air guns. HAve been in archery for years and shoulders won’t take it anymore. Ran into problems right off the bat with my first air gun purchase. This is the present issue. I ordered a 1 piece scope mount from Pyramid along with a scope. The scope is a Leapers 5th Gen 3-12×40 Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1″ Tube. It got great reviews and was the magnification I want. Problem is the 1 piece would not fit, no big deal I have other mounts but the scope itself is different from anything I have ever used. There is only a reticle adjustment on the eyepiece and elev. and windage. The instruction say to adjust the eyepiece till the crosshairs and target are equally in focus. Equally is not in focus. I am thinking this is a new type scope as I do see the type I am use to with the focus / yardage on the front and eyepiece on the back. What am I looking for. Will be returning this one post haste.

Just a short addition. Sent the scope back and purchase the leapers accushot 3-12 x 44 swat. For the money it is sweet. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks, placed order. Now back to the Old Weller Antique 107 😛

yep, that will work

OK guys would this one work. I have the Talon ss and the tri rail. Would the mount this one come with fit the try rail.

yes.. looks like the newer one is 1/4 clicks where mine is 1/8..

if your not needing your mills to light up, then you may want to check this one out

Dam… a few beam and cokes sound almost too good right about now… to bad I have a full day of climbing tomorrow 😥

I’ve had it for a few years now, but i’m sure p/a is were I got it… might not be available any longer

07 You are correct and explained in well, I did not know about the 100 yd fixed parallax. the write up said it I just didn’t know what it meant. Looking for one that will be used mainly from 10 yards to 50 so this one is definitely out. I ordered a Talon SS and doubt I will be shooting past 50 ever.

Ok, sounds like your scope has a fixed focus at 100yds. The reticle focus still should only be used to focus the reticle. Targets closer than 100yds won’t be in focus, say 50yds. Nothing can be done about that. Targets beyond 100yds will be in focus. My opinion, not a good airgun scope, cause most airgun shots are less than 100yds.

Suggest replace this scope with one that can focus down to 10yds or with one that has a fixed parallax of 50yds, which still won’t be sharp focus less than 50yds, but better than 100yd focus.

Bluejay, don’t drink beer but I did have more than a couple bourbon and cokes. Just checked Pyramid for your scope and it doesn’t appear they sell them. Where did you get yours?

I just looked your scope up.. and ya it’s a fixed parallax, so no adjustment…

07 what you are describing is what I am use to. This scope has NO front objective or any other adjustment. It has 3 X 12 power adjustment and the eye reticle. Thats it.Leapers 5th Gen 3-12×40 Rifle Scope, Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle, 1/4 MOA, 1″ Tube

first off it’s been a ruff day for you, so you must drink a minimum of eight beers then you’ll be in a better state of mind…. now that you doing better an adjustable a/o scope is what your after, I as well as others prefer a side wheel as it is so much easer wile eyein your pray to role the side wheel then it is to fight the forward bell.

a leapers accushot 3-12 x 44 swat is what I’m running, not the best scope in the world by far but not bad at all for the coin spent… others will chime in as well with some other recommendations I’m sure
