Q:

Setting my Condor

Hi guys,

I will be receiving my .22 barrel next week and I need some help/advice setting up my rifle for around 80fpe. The pellets I’ll be using are 30gr Piledrivers-ive been told they work very well in these barrels. So in short, the pellet needs to travel at 1100fps. I’ll tune it down if I’m not happy with accuracy, is it possible to set the rifle to shoot faster than 1100fps? What should my tophat gap be (roughly)? What else do I need to look at. I’ve just installed a new valve so there won’t be any hassles there. Its currently shooting Skenko’s 15,8gr at around 1115fps+.
Any help appreciated.

Thanx Nick.

Show how much quieter, power and consistency are you seeing?

Thanx for your reply Paris, I forgot to mention that the barrel is being built by a local gunsmith. The diameter is minutely larger than the LW barrels but accuracy is very good. In my sig you’ll see the Airvolution Sniper. The rifle is built from scratch by this guy, barrel included. He uses the piledrivers in his Airvolution.l Very powerful and accurate.
We do have a few guys that are very clued up re. Condors but I’d like to here your opinions too. All advise welcome.

Hello Nick

those pile drivers are a pile of crap, i do not know who told you they are good?…many tried them and got the same bad results.

What ever you shoot with a airgun, going over 1050 accuracy is lots, so keep that in mind.

For a condor valve or any other modified larger valve , you will need a heavier hammer it helps a lot with the higher pressure fills and also consistency…..i am making some now and some brass breech which seals the air a lot better making them more quiet and a little more power and better consistency, which i should finish hopefully end of this week and the price will be pretty low, if you are interested let me know.
I cannot help you with the condor valve settings as i never had any use for one, but i am sure you will get your answer soon in here.

Paris.
