A hint for first use…there needs to be a Gauge on whatever you are filling.
Do all the Shoe Box setup proceedure first.
YOUR 1st FILL JOB is just to verify all connections are good and the ShoeBox will shut off without blowing the safety burst disk. Don’t leave her side ❗
If filling a 4500 PSI Tank with just one gauge, that gauge is probably outboard of the tank valve but near the bleeder valve. Hand tighten the fill tanks bleeder and Also Shut It’s Main Valve. That’s good. Your first cycle of the ShoeBox should be just to fill the hose to about 4500 via the tank gauge and check for leaks.
If the banging on the On/Off switch shuts off a little below or a little above 4500, that’s OK.
While it is running make sure your low pressure compressor has its output working pressure set at 85 PSI Anything other than 85 will screw with the ShoeBox shut off pressure.
OK, let’s say it shut off with 4300-4600 PSI in the hose. GREAT ❗
Slowly open the fill tanks main valve…no, not the bleeder valve 😳
Re-Start the ShoeBox. and check on it often making sure it ain’t much above 4500.
Once the fill is complete, the ShoeBox switch shut off, final shutdown should be done in the following sequence:
1) ShoeBox switch shut off deliberately or automatically.
Leave the low pressure compressor on and still functioning.
2) Shut down the filled tanks main valve BUT DO NOT OPEN IT’S BLEEDER.
NOTE:
I found that a tiny bit of the white lithium lubricant (turns black) and gets through the two compression cylinders and we don’t want that going to far into our fill hose or tank.
So, the ShoeBox has a strategically placed pressure release screw to de pressurized the fill hose and spray a little excess lube out to the side.
3) Follow ShoeBox pressure release proceedure.
4) Remember, you still have the low pressure compressor trying to re pressurized the system. But with the ShoeBox bleeder open you can safely disconnect both the fill hose and low pressure supply hose from the ShoeBox.

Hope this helps 😉

That porter compressor to the shelf unless you’ve had it up there for a while. I have a similar one and as much as mine vibrates, I’d be concerned about it walking itself off of there at some point. Maybe not, but that would suck if it did.

Phase 2

I went to The Home Depot today. I found a few things to hook my 2 compressors together.
I picked up two Huskey moisture filters, two hose repair kits, four 3/8″-1/4″ reducers two male and female quick release ends, a 2’X4′ 3/4 handy panel and some gas rated TeflonTron.

I cut some hose, assembled the pieces. Made a few cuts and holes, screwed a few screws and had a shelf for the filters.

There is a new model ShoeBox Compressor that is 2Xs as fast but goes for a grand.
It would be well worth it if you do a bit of big bore air rifle shooting.

My original 4500 PSI model should do for a while.
I use 2 small fans from the front.
The compression cylinders stay cool minimising maintenance but the motor gets very hot.

I use 3 small blue bead desicant moisture filters in series. That had been adequate with a 17 CuFt Guppy tank but first fill of a Great White 97 CuFt tank turned most of the beads clear. I had to dump the beads onto foil and heat then back to blue twice in a couple days.

LMTSS, what did you get for the moisture filter?

After the compressorS, 2 .25 barrels + machining and bushings and the guppy, I’m pretty broke for the moment. (Wow! did I really spend close to $2000.00? 😯 😆 )
I did buy a probable one time use filter from The Home Depot. I will most likely get a Mac. Carr before to long.

Wow thanks for the info ss good to know I kind of figured they were close to that price. Actually thought they were more.

Without being intrusive or anything what does a show box go for?

Really depends on what accessories you get with it. Mine is a 4500 psi chain drive, no fan. It cost me $660.

OK, in that case let us see her private parts before and after the mods ❗

If its got a built in fan, that would be great.

No matter, you still may have to go deep inside her for a periodic lube job ❗

So, may I suggest if nothing else you should reverse the case screws and hot melt 4 rare earth magnets inside her lips. That way, with the case screws screwed from inside of the cover pointed out, you just guide the cover in place, line up the screws to the holes of the pretty red case, and let her magnetic lips lock on.

C’mon guys, if you get a ShoeBox Compressor you’ll fully understand these instructions are not suggestive of anything else 🙄

So as to not take credit for someone else’s idea, it’s all here in the TAG somewhere.

I like the magnet idea.
I DO NOT have a fan YET. I am going to pick one up and install it my self. I was thinking of useing 2 fans. One to suck, and one to blow.

I understand!
I have an older one and just left her cover off all the time.
I put a fan on her so she did not overheat while she was pumping away!
