Shooting & Freezing in Sweden
Today two of the Daughters came for a visit and after a while they got this bright idea ; “Let´s go shooting”. I told them that it´s too cold for that (we´ve got the first Snow in Southern Sweden this Winter) and that we´ll freeze our nuts off. They assured me that wasn´t a concern – regarding them – so i had no excuse but to grab a couple of guns and head to the Range with them. It was cold as in Russian Hell but we actually had a blast. A couple of pics to honour the day:

Second – Talking about my Daughters in a manner a Camelfucking worthless piece of human carbage, like yourself, just did is very, VERY hazardous to your health. PANDEMIC – You need to add a HOOT smiley of some kind so i don´t need to type his whole name every time it´s needed. Four is all too many letters to type for a lazy guy like me.

Very cold temps + airgunning = trouble and weird phenomenon.
The chancing POI is normal. That´s so with powderburners as well. Airguns – especially springers – are sensitive to freezing temps. PCP´s are far from immune too. Air pressure drops drastically so if your gun is pressurized to 200 Bar in room temp and you get outside while very cold the pressure goes down to 185-180 very fast. All metall is affected by heat/cold so weird things happen.
For powderburners there are even different kinds of powders (and primers for RF cartridges) so iex those Biathlon guys use special cartridges when temps are under 10 centigrades. I have no idea what that is in your weird American Fahrenheits .. :fishing:

Sir, it is amazing what the temperature does to these PCP’s . I made the mistake of filling my Syn-rod outside in 40 degree weather (which would be 4.4 in Celsius in Sweden) and had to come inside before I shot it down. Went to shoot it days later and the warmth indoors had made the pressure in the gun show way over the red. Scared the heck out of me. Thought I ruined something?
Had some serious spiraling pellets out the barrel. Shot it down to 1500 psi…..let it sit for a few hours…..filled it again, and everything was back to normal?
I’ll make sure I shoot them down to lower pressures before I bring them back inside on a cold day from now on.
That’s what I love about the Cricket. I only fill to 220 BAR and it has another 80 BAR safety net to 300 BAR max!!!!!

:hoot: is a wise man , but a bit dumb when it comes to oiling/greasing weapons at sub-zero temps/Northern Hemisphere. Every idiot knows that Fish Liver Oil is the best choice for those duties. Preferably from a young Mackerel.

When you take the guns out from room temperature, assuming you heat your house 😛 , do you let the guns stabilize before serious shooting. Seems like when I head out into the subfreezing, groups drift a LOT for awhile. Maybe some guns and scopes are affected more by dropping temperature. Might be the o ring grease on mine. :hoot: tells me you use low temp. fish oil to grease your guns.
