Short Barrel, Long Barrel?
Just form a pure accuracy standpoint, which is more accurate in AF rifles, short barrels or long barrels? If there are extenuating circumstances with your answer (such as power levels, valves to consider, etc.) please share them as well. Thanks,

Well i will throw two bits in,
I have seen good groups from both, but the longer barrels seem to always go with the best of the groups.
You know i had planned on buying 12” barrels for my condor in 22 and 177, but have not gotten around to it, really my condor is a freaking lasered killing machine and i really don’t want to mess with it much , it might loose the magic . 🙂

Normally the more power you can get behind a pellet/bullet the truer it will fly as it becomes less effected by outside factors such as wind and drop. This is assuming everything is working as it should. Also not taking in to account transonic flight. So assuming you get a pellet heavy enough to stay sub sonic the more power the more consistent it will be over longer distances. So a longer barrel will allow you to produce more power.
So in a over simplified view a longer barrel with heaver pellet and big valve to flow the air will be the way to be accurate on long shots. So a .25 24″ better will be better for long range then a .177 12″ barrel. But as i say its not really the hole story.
Also if your looking at standing shots with no rest often a overly long batter will be less consistent due to weight of the gun and the possibility of off target before the pellet leaves the gun is increased.
