Shorty 22 Reg adjustments?
Guys who have this AG. Couple of questions regarding regulator adjustments.
1. Right now I’m tuned to shoot JSB 18.13 at 825 fps (thanks to GKU’s info and advise!) accuracy has really improved, I think because less jumping/recoil. Question: What pressure do you have your regulator set to? And why?
2. If regulator pressure is adjusted, should I readjust HS to get back to 825 fps or would that be necessary?
Right now I can get about 40 predictable shots filing to 220/225 BAR shooting down to about 145/140Bar. Could I gain more shots by adjusting and how many more should I expect?

Greg , What barrel you running on your 22 Mutant?
My CZ barrel I bought was just to picky , JSB 16 only
My Linstone (sp) barrel shoots everything I stick in it ,
Brian might have super tuned that barrel, It used to be his gun, The one on the Mutant first video .

The Taipan Mutants and the latter Taipan Veteran are two different animals …….
But before reducing the reg pressure to gain more shots I’d get a Donnydu to try first if you haven’t already ?
I have a 22 Mutant Shorty and a 25 Veteran Shorty.
What help my 25 Vet shoot steadier was adding a Donnydu TATSU / SUMO.
Never could shoot my Veteran 25 shorty well compared to my 22s.
But after equipping it with a Donnydu I’ve been stacking em at 50.
Seems the recoil flip is reduced by the added weight to the muzzle reduced barrel harmonies or the vacuum effect …. who knows the POI is lower too ?
For me with TATSU on the cut off point is about 800 fps with JSB King, but shot it at 820 fps livablely still.
The SUMO I use when I tune up to 880 fps it has a lower pitch tone as well as a less flip recoils/moves straight back.
POI tuned to 880 fps is about 4 clicks lower with the SUMO ……

My Reg is set at whatever manufacturer set it at upon production, I’ve never taken the gun apart to see. Out of box it was shooting JSB 18 @ 885 fps and 16 gr @ 925 fps. When shooting over Pro Chrono at the factory settings it would fall of Reg at 140/ 145 bar after 30 shots, guess it’s set in that range. I turned HST out 1.5 full turns to get JSB 18 down to 825, (accuracy improved a bunch, thanks to your advice!). I pinned a starling to the ground at 83 yds yesterday! 3 mil holdover through my SWFA 3×15 FFP mil/mil scope. I also fill to 220 BAR as you suggested.
I’m thinking in Veteran duel transfer port gives better efficiency and wondering if Reg adjustments can get me more shots? Although for what I do with the Vet more shots aren’t really that necessary, just wanting to learn more about gun. I don’t pest control or anything only hunt small game and need just a few shots as limit is 8 squriels in Alabama. When I get limit seems I’m using 1 or 2 mags (20) shots, as I use Primos hunting tripod for steady hold.

Is JSB 18.13 at 825 fps about HST half turn down from max at 835 fps ?
If so, your about most efficiency for that reg setting.
My reg is set to 146 bar and HST maxed out JSB 18g @ 830 fps.
From there I set HST down to 820 fps to gain air efficiency and shot count.
I top fill to 220 bar I’m getting 3 mag = 36 shot with JSB 18g down to 115 bar.
With JSB 16g HST dialed down to 820 fps I’m getting 4 mags = 48 shots.
What is your reg set at ?
