Q:

Shot count on .25 R3 long?

Just wondering how many shots per fill you long .25 R3 owners are getting.

I currently have a standard length .22 Matador and am considering either getting a new standard length .22 R3 to replace it or buying a long .25 to keep it company… or maybe a pair of new R3s (one standard length .22 and one long .25) and selling my earlier version.

The .22 is a great balance between power & shot count IMO for both target and hunting use but I’m curious to know how many shots per fill the .25 long is capable of; I’m thinking the .25 long will make an excellent hunting and 100+Y target rifle.

+1, – no need to have an avatar that long. Makes scrolling through pages more difficult…… πŸ˜‰

I use Photobucket, they give a quick link to add to forums etc. & yes its a little big πŸ™‚

Yes, I know how to resize Naser. πŸ˜†
My first avatar was way bigger then this one.
Problem was how to resize some picture that is right now on the internet and to use that picture direct from the internet from that same source where you find that pics..
Never used avatars before, so I didnt know how to do that, but I fast learn πŸ˜†
just download pics, resize and then upload somewhere at your place on internet and use that link for avatar. πŸ™‚
Do you guys still feel that this avatar is too big? Because I saw even bigger on this forum 😯

OG, i actually can get a good 70+ shots after tuning my Edgun, what i did was turn the regulator all the way down to about 115BAR and added a stronger spring tension on the valve to seal faster, but you also need a stronger hammer spring tension.

It’s not very reliable & your valve might break faster but you get a great number of shots.

Here is a chrony picture, forget the ES, that’s high cause of the last couple of shots. if you just take the first 80 shots, you will get ES of only 36, very efficient rifle if you tweak it.

P.S: Dekan attached is a resized image πŸ™‚

Kiba, I am on the list for a R3 22 cal standard also.

Naser, My R2.5 got 45-47 regulated shots and I think that my R3 is probably close 60 or so.

My R3’s regulator ended up being set a couple of bar higher than my R2.5’s regulator. The R3 needs less hammer spring tension, to shoot 890 fps, than the R2.5 did.

It could be that the higher pressure and the “softer” hammer hit on the air valve allows the R3 to get more regulated shots per fill. If I still had the R2.5 it would be interesting to play with the reg and see if I could get 60 shots out of it.

Got on the list with Tony today. If I had to choose only one I’d take another standard length .22… but I figure I’d treat myself to both a standard length .22 R3 and a long .25 R3. πŸ˜›

I know it will be a long wait for the R3s but at least I still have my current .22 R2 to use in the meantime! πŸ˜€

Just checked, im getting over 60 shots

My R2.5 long, gives at least 55 shots, if not even 60 with JSB 25gr @ 900.

Good to know, I was honestly expecting around 30-35 shots per fill on the .25 cal R3 given the energy level.

This makes my decision tougher… now I’m leaning towards getting on the list for a pair of R3’s (standard .22 and long .25) and then selling my current standard length .22 when the R3’s arrive. Decisions, decisions…

I haven’t actually sat down and counted the regulated shots on my R3 25 cal long but it seems to get a few more shots than my R2.5 25 cal long does.

My R2.5 would get 45-47 per fill so I think that the R3 is at least in the 50-52 shot range and it could be a couple more. When I adjusting the R3’s regulator it seemed to take a lot more shots to come off of the regulator than the R2.5 took.

One thing that I just recently learned was that I wasn’t getting a full fill on my Matadors. I thought that I was filling them slowly enough, I wasn’t. The fill port on the Matadors won’t let air in fast enough to keep up with the shown pressure on the fill gauge. I now fill to 3100 psi, shut the tank valve off, wait a few seconds and then top the gun off again. Doing this gives me a couple more regulated shots.
