Shot my chrony……
I was just testing the talon (before I screwed up the valve stem) and I shot my chrony. I feel like an idiot. I was shooting from a sitting position and I decided to take a pot shot at an old spinner target around 15 yards away. CLANG! The .25 Kodiak hit the chrony’s middle section, but luckily missied all the important bits. Anyone else done this?

It really offended this guy. He had never heard of such a thing LOL! He had also never heard of anyone taking their chrony into the woods. Pretty funny.

da!! im on my 3rd chrony. they dont survive hits from a .45 auto or muzzle blast from .223 or direct hit with a .22 pellet. did ya say we have started a chrony shooters club ??
Remember Guy’s, the scope is 3″ above the bore line in our guns. Another 3/8″ or so if using a top rail brace.
YOU HAVE TO ALLOW FOR THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE!!!
If using a chrony at short range, and who doesn’t, you have to have target 3″ higher than normal. So sight 3″ above the intended impact zone to allow for the difference.
It really helps on head shots on squirrels at 5-10 yards knowing this as well. .

I’ve got a pretty decent body count when it comes to chronometers.

I shot my first chronograph with a .22 Hornet. It didn’t survive.
Now i have an 8 foot long fixture. The fixture holds the gun in perfect aim. The crony is screwed into a closed box on the other end of the fixture. The pellet goes through a small hole in the box. The top of the box has lights in it.
Damn MM, that’s a downright smart setup you’ve got there. With the peppering of the LD on the entrance hole it’s well used also.
The ingenuity of you gentlemen on this forum never ceases to amaze me. What I’d give to have just a smidgen of the talent you guys show via your fabrications.
