shot string from my 2550 project…
…I wanted to get it functioning as it is without any mods…so I managed to find some good green AC O rings at Advanced auto parts. It was a very tight fit, so I greased it up with Silicone and gently tapped the bulk fill valve into place with a hammer and dowel. I put a new O ring on the bolt probe and I put the MA TP back in (for now, I will redo it as per Walter’s instructions soon) with some silicone on both sides were it contacts the valve and barrel…I filled it to 1,000 psi and ran a 10 shot string with 25.4 jsb exact kings through the crony. 24″ LW barrel

It drops off quick as you can see by shot 10. I think this is descent enough to allow me to scope it and check the LW barrel for accuracy.
I will post pics when I finish putting my personal touches on it. 😈
I have a few questions. If I wanted to increase the shot count a bit (and since I do not have a power adjuster on it…) would using a shorter hammer spring suffice?
What is the maximum safe fill pressure for these extension tubes?
Lastly, why can a co2 cart be used in the rear position on these carbines, but not an hpa tank? I was told by one of commercial custom builders of this rifle that hpa tanks cannot be used in the rear stock position??? And when co2 or hpa (if possible) is used in the rear position…how does it work. It seems counter intuitive from a “newbie” standpoint as the hammer and spring is back their behind the valve so how does the gas or air flow past the hammer and spring to the valve in front???? Thanks for helping to edjumacate me on these fun plinkers. 😆

THe ONLY 2250 that has the cartridge in the rear (88 garms) is the 2250 XT..there’s a tube on l/h side of gun from the cart up to the valve ..Look on Crosman’s parts diagram for the 2250 XT and you’ll see it..I belive it’s on the second page of the breakdown. You could put an HPA bottle on the back I suppose, but you’d have a LOT of potential leaks with athe extra fittings, and you’d need high pressure line routed up the l/h side of gun….
and IMHO, would look “goofy”..and you’d have to be REAL CAREFUL” to not let that line catch or hang up on anything.
You might luck out and get the right spring on your first try, but chances are you won’t..I went through all that hammer spring changing thing…take my advice..spend the cash, buy a power adjuster and make sure it’s the kind that lets you pull the spring out through it..that way you don’t have to dis-assemble anything to change springs.., the spring that comes in the 2300S (blue colored) is a wee bit lighter than the 2250..the 2289 is stiffer..What worked best for me was to cut 1.5 coils off the stock spring..still using it .
The tube on these guns was NOT designed for CO2,they are simply to hold the valve and cartridge….the rolled–stamped area if pressurized ,could blow up like a hand grenade..all that stamping would cause tube to break into a gazillion pieces.. tube has to be o-ringed to isolate that stamped area, if you intend to pressurize it !!!
