Should you store the Talon with the breach open?

loaded but uncocked , bottle in frame…..if the tiny pressure the hammer is pushing on the bottle makes it leak your got a faulty bottle
You don’t want to store your gun cocked. I also remove the bottle while storing.
I would remove the tank for long storage periods…..that will never happen because I can stop shooting shit with my talon….the bolt should not be left cocked due to spring fatique..just pull the trigga and you be all set.
Closed.

When not in use for a while breech closed, bottle off. Or just the breech closed to stop poop trying to get in the barrel
Some one told me, that keeping the breech open keeps the tank from leaking. Not that I beleieve everything I hear.
well I guess it depends on what state/city you live in, but I don’t know of anything that would disallow a legal alien to get a CCW.
NOW, if you live in VT, then you can carry whatever ever you want how ever you want, and it’s legal, meaning there’s no CCW required to carry locked and loaded concealed. Here in Maine you can carry open anywhere you want , and as long as part of the gun is visible, no license/permit is required. if you want everything concealed, then you need to pony up $30.00 for a 5 year CC permit.
I haven’t a clue, to be honest. I’m an Englishman living here in the US, so I don’t even know whether I’m allowed a CCW at all.
Not around here. In fact, if your packing a serious pistol (1911) it’s considered poor form to do so otherwise…..
Without the CCW (useless when you’re hunting, BTW?) it’s probably best to leave it at home.
How about where you are?

Is carrying a cocked pistol on a CCW illegal?
Dave
What’s that, condition 3 in 1911s (hammer down on a chambered round)? That’s the way I set up when hunting for sure. But I don’t transport that way, it’s legally a loaded gun (ammo attached) and therefore a bust.
I too end a session ‘hammer down on an empty chamber’, that is with the breech closed (to keep out dirt as well as spring and safety issues) with the bottle full. I usually keep the tank on and pellets handy in case I have to ‘repell boarders’.

Metal memory/ metal fatigue. Leave it closed and uncocked. Bottle off if you want…
I keep mine closed.
If the breech is open then the spring is compressed and gun is cocked… Not a safe situation.
I usually store mine with a full tank, loaded but uncocked. Easy to decock with no safety. Never know when I might have to shoot something :-).
Dave
Not to sure why you would want to store it with breach open, with the spring being compressed for long periods of time, although I’m not sure it would hurt it that much.. anyways I always keep mine closed if not in use.

I store it with the fill adaptor on, so touch wood the top hat shouldn’t get smacked around.
