Show me your P-rod….

I already have a whoop ass Condor. It’s accurate and powerful out to at least 125 yards yards, and is wicked quiet thanks to Tony. It’s big and long, like an air powered Barrett .50. I love everything about it, but….
I’ve now got the itch for something smaller, precise, easily packable, etc… I spend a lot of time at my in-laws where a 12ft/lb carbine would be great fun. I’ve been looking at the P-rod, have read the posts, and am thinking this might make a great next gun. What I’d love to see are some pics of mods some of our members have done. Anyone care to share some pics of your P-rod projects? Thanks TAG, Wolfeman 😀

Rob, Is that my old Prod inside all those goodies? Looks nice, Is that a scope or red dot you have on it?
Yes, sir! That’s the one!
That scope is a little Barska 4×21… called an ‘Elektro sight’, but I have never understood why. I’ve put that scope on numerous guns to find a ‘fit’ and it seems to fit this Prod best… so that’s where it stays.

However, crosman’s quality control SUCKS!!! My P-rod scattered the pellets. I sent it back and politely complained to the rep that I have developed a repor with. I don’t know if that helped, or not…but the replacement shoote accurately.
Mine is a stock looking model. I was disappointed with the power and shot count. Increasing the power is accomplished easily enough, but that saps the shot count. The low power almost insures that critters will run, crawl, or flop away. Hmmm. That being said, I bagged several rats and pesky little birds at relatively close range in the last week, or so with it.
I prefer it as a carbine. As a carbine, crosman could have increased the air tube volume and the shroud legnth, (both are sorely needed in my opinion.) The stock doesn’t fit the pistol grip properly…I have slid a small washer into the space between the frame and stock to keep it from wobbling. Hmm. I really have mixed attitudes towards this gun as it could be so much better from the factory, (what’s with crosman?) It’s a great tin can plinker and an OK rat/squirrel catcher. I’m not really impressed with it. I do like the advantage of having an 8 shot magazine. Also, the trigger is very good as it is a different design from the cheaper pistols, (22xx, 17xx guns.)
It can be a great little gun if you plan to spend time and money.

I didn’t want to invest a whole lot of money in this starling gun, but I did want an acceptable cheek-weld. It now also sports a Swift shroud, which works well & only added a a few inches to the overall length.

Hey wollf , i’ve been looking at that p rod also, but i would want to leave it as a hand gun with a red dot sight, be a nice blaster for shorter range critters.
