I put the tape on top opposite the set screw, and then again at the bottom of shroud on the end that goes next to the bushing, this way when I tighten the set screw the shroud does not tilt.

+1 on the Alu. Tape. 😉

I ruined two expensive Tony shrouds that had tight tolerances, maybe 1 mm, between pellet and baffles. Eventually the slug or pellet just barely clips the baffle, knocking it slightly out of alignment. Then the next shot knocks it further out of alignment. Fast forward a few shots and the shroud is worthless. It’s like a flat roof with water ponding on it, deflecting downward under the water’s weight, which makes it hold more rainwater, which makes it deflect further downward etc. Death spiral and guaranteed failure over time.

My solution was to make my own shroud with more forgiving tolerances: I used washers with a 3/8 inch hole and that works fine, and it is still pretty quiet.

I use finger nail polish. Sometimes you have to build up a couple of layers. But makes a nice seal. As far as aligning. Take the tank off and look down the barrel from the action end not the business end. Turn it so you don’t see any edges of the shroud.

wow, thats perrty cool.

ill square up with what i owe you, then well talk bushings.

whats that made of?

How are your outside dimensions? Do you have cailpers?

Send me some precise measurements, I’ll print you an outside bushing to hold everything snug.

I use alum. tape to wrap around the shroud to keep it tight fit.
