Q:

Shroud and LDC for .25 STD R3M

I created a thread over in the Shroud and Moderator section. I am using it to store information in case someone else wants to get one for theirs. I will be shipping Neil Clague my shroud and baffle so that he can get the proper measurements. I will ask him to post those measurements on there so we can use it for future references. He’s been so busy since he made one for Hoot and Gabe that he doesn’t have time to search through his order catalog. Also, theirs were the long version.

I tell the women that all of the time… 😛 (it’s twice as long as it really is)

I am not that smart SECoda, Neil figured it out lol. It was close to double the length though.

quote SECoda:

So did you figure that something is twice as long as it really is? 😯

What version of the Matador do you have? He just finished mine today and will be shipping it out tomorrow. I goofed and gave him the wrong measurements for the barrel but he was able to work his magic and saved the shroud. The measurements I have on the other thread are correct for a STD .25.

Good to hear Hoot. In 5-6 weeks I should have mine. Made the payment, just need to get him measurements .

Yes, got the shroud and LDC combo. Just like Hoot, I need it to be as quiet as possible 🙂

No I went for the slide on with two allen screws. He said this method is a lot quieter than the screw on like OEM. Plus my measuring skills is non existent so didn’t want to take a chance and get it wrong.

I have R3M standard. I will be giving him measurements of my gun, he said for the threaded one the measurements have to be exact. Did you order the thread on one?

That’s what he told me, but when I saw how much the barrel moved I thought a threaded one would be needed to hold it steady. Maybe I’ll wait to finalize untill you get your a and are able to post about it.

Did you order the two piece?

Neil has a barrel nut installed midway up the custom Edgun shroud to pull the barrel tight for those who don’t want a “floating” barrel.

This was the best money I ever spent! My .25 Edgun is so quiet that the hammer slap and pellet impact the the only sound. If I use a silent pellet trap, it’s just hammer slap and if you stand 20 feet away you wouldn’t know what it was anyway.

He did one for my Cricket too. Awesome quiet….absolutely awesome!

Thanks for that Link Donny!

Does the shroud stabilize the barrel? After removing mine I noticed the barrel moves?

Yeh it is, Donny you got that under control right? more rubber mulch

quote donnyfl:

It does lower the noise a bit but I need it to be very quiet. So I want to eliminate all muzzle noise and only hear the hammer slap.

Should have got a 22 long and modded shroud or a 177 then :-).
The 25 pellet impact is still pretty loud and bordering backyard friendly.

looks pretty sweet!!!! I take it its not very effective?
