Looking good there f’nrod.
You can go to youtube and search airgun silencers. it will you can find test there of many different makes. Including the logun. HW. and others.

Gotcha

The shroud does not attach to the barrel, it slips into the frame. When I said it slips over the barrel, It is no different then a tt shroud or gtbj shroud that slips over the barrel and into the frame. An Airforce barrel is (I think without checking) 16mm O/D, the I/D of the hole in the shroud is 13/16ths.

Actually the shrouds slip into a frame and would have to be modified.

The one your showing us would just slip on any barrel be it firearm or airgun. And being all metal it would survive a firearm blast.

Just keep it in mind that off the gun how does one know it is for an airgun?

I bet that would slip onto a .22lr barrel pretty easy. What do you think

That I/D is 13/16. It would be hard to find a barrel with that O/D and then to get it to line up.

For that matter you could take any of the shrouds and adapt them. That would be the “act of” that is against the law.

Did you actually notice a difference between cap and no cap when used with the 12″ barrel.

YES

I have never heard a logan, but I am willing to keep trying to improve my product.

Here is one I built for a new member yesterday. He wanted one that he could use with a 12″ barrel ss and his 18″ barrel ss. I made this one so that his 18″ barrel slips into it (without the cap) and then if he is using his 12″ barrel he can place the end cap for an extra air chamber. This worked well.

So you find that the Logan type is quiter than your multi chambered style?

Your multi chambered style is much like a very popular UK .22 rimfire moderator. Works very welll on rimfires!

The Velcro style curlers work well. I just can’t find any here in town.

I like a slightly smaller diameter curler, with thicker felt for more sound deadening

Mike

Thanks for the response. The rollers I used had the velcro on them to start and I pulled it off. Maybe I will try it with the velco on. I was also thinking of trying a perforatded brake line.

Thanks

Hi Rod
I use hair curlers with craft felt (about 1/16 thick) wrapped around the outside then I hold it on with stiff thin wire, get the right size curlers so that with one rap of felt they slide into the tube snugly. I also separate the hair curlers with delrin baffles drilled 2mm larger than the pellet this gives on mine 3 sepperate chambers which muffles the whole thing. I also have found that this design works well as a muzzle stripper.

When I made my own shroud I used velcro hair rollers… try those one. The holes that you have in your plain hair roller, the velcro version have a fine mesh wrapped around the roller.

4 baffles, 4 velcro rollers wrapped with scotch brite = one quiet 18″ Condor shooting Kodiak’s @ 950 FPS 8)

Any soft material in the shroud will get deformed and as you shoot. Especially with a Condor. It might work at first but later the fibers will work their way through the holes and jack your accuracy.

Silencer design can be found online. The principles are the same for FAC airguns.
