Shroud Venting
I vented my shroud by the advice I was given and it totally did not work as a matter of fact in my case it really fucked my shroud up . So I
gave donnyfl a PM and told him my problem and asked him if it would be possible for him to make me a new shroud . He said that he no longer
makes Vulcan shrouds and the last three that he made were already sold and gone . Then out of the blue he tells me that I’m in luck and that not
only is he is going to give me the one from his own Vulcan but it is already in the mail being shipped to me . How can anyone thank a person who
is so willingly helpful and refused to accept any money for his kindness and efforts to help . Donny is truly a person of good heart and soul and I
can not thank him enough for helping me . Even though he would not take any money I’m going to send him a gift card , just my way of saying
thank you Donny for being such a great person , I wish the world had more people like you in it .

I think it would be best to compare the different versions of venting side by side.

Of course the ammo and velosity should be similar. I believe my .22 is a little quieter if I tune it down from 910 fps to 890 but the SD is best for mine at 910.

benj397 , I did 8 holes only and it was 1 1/2″ from the base of the rear end of the shroud in a complete circular pattern with a distance of 0.468 inch
space between holes . I only said 1/64 ” hole would have been much better than a 1/8″ hole and as you mention a 1/16″ hole more than likely would
have been the best size to use even for 8 holes . The one thing that I found out is not to make your holes in a circular pattern . Instead I think one
would be far better off by placing the vent holes in a straight line under the shroud that way you should not get air blow back in your face . The blow
back in your face is very annoying to say the least and it would be a big problem if you were trying to get off a rapid second shot .

Did you mean to type 1/64?? That is EXTREMELY small. Did you actually mean 1/16th?
1 mm that the OP used is slightly less than 1/16th.
So you did 8 holes at the back?
Has anyone else bored 13 holes?
:rofl: :rofl: you even got me to laugh on that one! Bird, I remember when we took Lurkers end cap off it was VERY tight. We used snap ring pliers to break it free and it was a job to do so.
Zonk , it was a 3/4″ drill bit and 15 holes , I wasn’t smart enough to use the 1/2″ drill bit . Actually it was a 1/8″ drill bit and 8 holes were made .
for that many holes I think I should have used a 1/64″ drill bit . Anyways too much air vented out and the stupid rear end cap will not come lose
at all and my pin nose pliers ended up stripping out the two little ding holes on the rear cap . So too much air vented and now gun is way too loud .
Since I can not get the rear end cap off without destroying the entire shroud I asked Donny if he could help me out . He didn’t say why he doesn’t
make the shrouds anymore . Again thanks Donny .

Ben, rumor has it Bird used a 1/2″ drill bit and drilled 13 holes.
