Side mount scope, like RPG launcher – any ideas ?
I was thinking of side mounting my scope to an offset of maybe 2 inches.
Down and to the left like a RPG launcher. Very comfortable.
That would be 2 inches perfectly parrallel so easy to compensate when viewing the target.
Any ideas ?

yeah – never thought of off balance weight – just experimented – not as practical as I thought, with out a good forearm grip. .hmmm…
_/\_Mounting a scope 2 inches (sideways) to the right or left of center is quite simple with the airforce line of air rifles. first you need only to acquire 3 Airforce tri-rails, with 11mm dovetails on the right, or left.
To get a 2 inch offset just mount a couple of tri-rails together…..onto the right or left 11mm dovetail on the tri-rail mounted on the gun.
Use the 11mm dove tails on the bottom, if you want to lower the scope.
Mount the scope upside down! Point the elevation turret down, probably not gonna be enough clearance to make adjustments, and be sure to remember the elevation works backwards, now, down becomes UP?

Ah got ya, would be neat to get a custom scope reticle made for that! 😉
My intent is to always be 2 inches left, so I don’t have to compensate, so I mount the scope tube parallel to the bore. Only drop needs compensated. I think it might work.
It may work for a set distance but as the target gets closer and further from the zero distance you will need to compensate for the side to side offset similar to compensating for drop…
If for example you zero it at 50 yards and the scope is 2″ to the left of the bore then shoot at 25 yards the pellet will hit 1″ to the left of the target…
For a minute of “automobile” or “building” this may work for a rocket launcher. Or like on an old Mosin Nagant sniper rifle a minute of “human chest” it’s ok but if you shooting something small you may find the whole experience a but frustrating more so if you have to hold off for wind, drop and side mounted scope at the same time. 😕
Any cant would make things really tough and cause some accuracy issues too.
It would be very comfortable though. 😉

Hang a flashlight out off the other side of the tri-rail 💡
That should correct the balance.
You could probably get away with cutting the tri-rails in half.
