Silent Pellet Trap
A local air gunner made this for me.
Because I have some powerful PCP’s (and springer) I decided to cut out a sheet of MDF –
and then screw some electrical box cover’s to the MDF and glue it in the back of the trap
I have 3 layer’s of duct seal which is about 3″. On full power and at point blank My SS goes in about 1/2″ and my Avanti 753 only manages to get the head of the pellet to break the surface.
Its VERY quiet – Nice not getting the clank noise with each shot like I do with my rimfire trap.

I made a target with a word processor, a bunch of thin font “o”s. and small.
the benifit is ya get like 50 targets per sheet, and the pellets don’t all end up in one area.

I used to use sticky shoot n see targets on steel backer’s but like you know too – the pellets just disintegrate and shred the target – 2 or 3 shots and its fallen off the backer.
Before this I just used stacks of magazines in priority mail boxes – but this is much quieter and hopefully I wont be shooting through it after a couple dozen rounds.
Very nice Pellet trap. I need to make something like that for myself.
Am useing a 3/8 x 9″ x 19″ steel plate at about 40 yds. Needless to say Kodiaks make a silver dot and vaporize at the sametime. Next day the silver dots are gone.
Targets are shredded beyond use so I use a red sharpie to make dots. Need to get some plyboard and duct seal. My other target is a 5/8″ Piece of railroad track. Looks like a letter T with a potato at the bottom. Hanging in the Tree. 🙄
I can see Kodiaks fall to the ground when hit. Makes a good plink when hit

haha – when I was taking the picture I noticed that and for 1/2 a second thought about putting it right but didnt think anyone would notice… I shoulda known 😆
Not only that, but apparently you’re good enough to shoot upside down too! 😆
