this is going on ,over on the Yellow , so i thought i would start it here also.

Hey, I thought we were target shooting?
Any how, at work we have a plotting table that will copy anything up to 3′ x 3′ x 3′, that’s right, 3D. You put a pattern on one table and this thing will carve it out exactly in Styrofoam and then we use it for casting in concrete.
I worked for a contractor and we used to get all the crazy stuff the union guys didn’t want to or couldn’t do. Now I work for a contractor figuring out and detailing all those problem areas that the architect doesn’t take into account. 😉
Those plotter rock, wish we had one where I work now (last two jobs had really nice ones), great for poster sized photos if it’s a color one.
It’s 22” x 33 1/2” , it’s what we print out architectural plans on to do take offs , i suppose you would call it a plotter???
i just call it the big printer 🙂 , yes i am a contractor, i am a contract installation specialist for a speciality company. Another words i get all the problem jobs 😈

At first I though PB had printed a slightly larger print but when I looked at what mine was going to print at 100% it appeared that his was just off center and not enlarged. 😉
Sometimes ‘fit to printable area’ will actually reduce the image if the original pdf had large borders. Clicking on ‘none’ for page scaling (or 100%) is the ticket.
PB, do you work in construction? What size sheet is that, 20×30?? 😕 😯 I have a printer that will do up to 14″ wide (I print lots of 11×17 and 12×18 for work) did you do that on a plotter or printer, never seen a printer handle that size of paper, pretty sweet! 😯
OK, “fit to printable area” is the key. I never looked and it said “shrink to printable area”. Man this new target is huge, I’m only going to use 1 eye on this one.

thats dang good shootin, i put the first target at 16 hits / 10- half shots in target , the second at 17 hits /10 shots half in target .
i prited this out of two differant printers and they are the same size, the one posted is off my printer at home , it’s just off center a bit, the others i printed are from the office printer.
the computer was set to print to the job architectural plan printer for the big one 😆
also the printer pop up says print to fitable area, i did not adjust anything to make targets, i just hit print, for the small ones
Or yours is shrunk… I’d estimate it is 85% or less of the full size print.
When I set it up for print it looks like at 100% there is about a 3/8″ of white border outside the black outline on the right and left edges. At 113% (fit to page) there is about 1/8″ of white border around each edge or less.
On the right side of PB’s page there looks to be about 3/4″ of white outside the black border. Not sure where the black border is on the left though.
Mine is 8 1/2 x 11, that’s the target from his post, I just added the text on the bottom. His does look like it was magnified a tad doesn’t it?
And notice how much more white and text you have around the border compared to PB’s printout. And his doens’t say anything about a 1/2 or more of the pellet.
That is if yours is 8 1/2 x 11… 😉

Finally got some time to even try and shoot 1 COMPLETE TARGET.
1st off, i LOVE offhand shooting and consider myself pretty good at it. But this is the first time i’ve tried shooting anything like this. These targets are small and trying to get the perfect trigger release and timing is something quite different than shooting a Rabbit at 55-60 yards offhand. Even that far, them rabbits are much bigger…..lol This is very hard but i actually found a good technique for me to shoot well offhand.
I actually printed 5 targets in hopes that i would go into my garage, setup, then try each smallbore airgun i had. The Crosmods is NO GOOD for this type shooting. The Logun Solo is really nice handling and feeling but it too is too light but is the second best in my arsenal for this shoot. I also tried my 14″ 2240 and it felt really great when shooting it offhand but man, the red dot scope did not help my accuracy at all. The final and BEST gun chosen was my Rapid 25 which is the gun that i do the most offhand shooting with anyways in the field. The heaviness of the gun really shines when shooting offhand.
This was the very first target shot with the Rapid 25 using kodiaks at 890 FPS at 13 yards in my garage:
On the top row, 2nd chicken from the right and on the second row the last pig both showed lead smears on the body of the animals even though the center hole looks like its off the animals body. They were near MISSES. OOPS, I MEAN “HITS”. I THINK…lol
And if you guys want me to, i will gladly reshoot this target but the next time, i promise you……..it will be a perfect 20/20 (no cheating)!! So don’t MAKE ME……..LOL!!
