Not knocking anyone who lubes up, but, i DO NOT and have never lubed my pellets and i cannot notice a difference in accuracy or bore cleaning or whatever. And jerry is right, no one has really proven otherwise.

There are folks on the Yellow who will swear by it. Personally, I think the idea of esoteric lubes for pellets is absurd. First of all, slick 50 has been shown to be a scam for its intended use. Second, there are no extreme conditions in an air rifle bore that require or could make use of automotive or other special purpose additives.
My experience has been that almost any light oil will prevent leading the bore and make the occasional cleaning easy. I’ve not seen any significant performance changes with changes in lubricant. I’m open to new facts but I’ve yet to see anyone present any chronograph readings after doing proper trials to determine any difference.
Right now I’m using a budget brand of power steering fluid to lube all my PCP pellets. The power steering fluid does not have solvents in it that evaporate leaving a thicker residue like many other oils.
I stand ready to be flamed by the Slick 50 and miracle oil afficianados… 🙄
