Slimmer air tank with gauge
I am thinking of buying some slim air tanks from catalina cylinders.
They are 7.33 inches long, and 2 inches in diameter. It holds 213 cc of air.
I just made an “adapter sort of thing” that has a 5/8-18UNF male thread to screw into the tank, and a female M18x1.5 thread for the valve to screw into. The entire adapter is 4″ long and 1.25″ in diameter, the same as the outside of the valve body.
I then drilled and tapped a 1/8 pipe thread into the adapter and installed a small pressure gauge. I did the same thing on the other side but installed a male QC foster fitting, to fill your tank without removing it from the gun.
What all this would get you is a slimmer tank that has a gauge and Quick fill built in, to make things a lot easier.
My question is. Would people be interested in buying this? I am thinking of a price around $120, for the basic model. If you want a bigger, or smaller tank, or a different gauge, I can do that to.I can also make an adapter to fit a gauge onto a standard airforce bottle.
What do you guys think?

The problem with CF paintball tanks are they are too fat for a comfortable head postition
It is not just about the gauge but also about being able to use a smaller or larger air tank. I might end up just making an adapter without a gauge to allow standard paintball tanks to be used. i will see how it turns out.
Make one first and lets see how it turns out.
I personally like removing my tank from my AF gun to fill. It is much easier then trying to get the adapter and tank set up to the gun and then lean down on the ground to see what the gauge says. With the tank I can keep the CF tank in the back of the jeep and attach the tank easily.
When I fill my AA410 or Career. I have to take the tank out of the car and put it on the ground, put the gun on the ground and then fill. Kind of a pain.
As for a gauge. I have shot my gun so much I know when to fill when the POI starts to drop.
I think your going to need to show them some of your work before folks pony up some funds. Make one for yourself and post some pics.
I now see your confusion. I wrote in the wrong tense(correct word?) I have not actually built the thing yet, i just somehow managed to write as if I had 😆

Btw, I have got the 1.25″ steel bar to start it, picked that up yesterday. So when i get back from my trip I will get er done! I have got the gauges on order from ashcroft, but I have yet to find a male foster fitting with a built in check valve, anyone know where I can get one of those?

I have not gotten any tanks yet, i would like to see if people are interested first.

I am not talking about the CF ones, i am talking about the aluminum ones. They have some that have a 2″ diameter and are 11″ long, which is a tad bit smaller than the stock AF tank and may add to a more comfortable head position.
