Q:

Small puff of air on my cheek

I just recieved my Vulcan 25 from tony yesterday and it is very very nice. Sighted in at 30yards easily and is stacking them up! Love it! I do notice when it fires I get a puff of air on my cheek is this normal with BP? I did put divers grease on the breech O-ring before shooting.

Old thread, but can confirm that putting teflon tape on breech screw, on top in front of the magazine, got rid of the small puff of air against my cheek.

Had the same experience; Air blasting my cheek.

I discovered quite by chance that the barrel on my Vulcan 25 had moved forward. The barrel clamp screws and the barrel locking screw in the end of the breech appeared to be tight enough when I went to remove the barrel.

So I thought the same thing; must be the o ring in the leade. I removed the barrel, checked the o ring, re-installed the barrel and the puff of air went away and velocity came back to norm.

Another thing that lead me to checking the leade o ring was a serious loss in FPS. Like a 100fps. :suprisedn:

After re-assembly, I noticed that the barrel now slightly protruding back towards the magazine so my assumption is this was the cause.

‘Bout the only thing it could have been.

With the barrel slightly forward, the transfer ports do not line up properly. The air is then allowed to escape around the O rings that seal around the transfer ports.

Great tip! Thank you :suprisedn:

for those who suspect that the breech o ring is leaking: you can try this

put a fair amount of silicone nicely all around the pellet probe, then push it forward so it forms a ring around the barrel opening and probe.
if the silicon is blown away after firing, it means you have a leaking pellet probe oring.

do this with magazine removed so you can see it.

I used one of the O-rings that came with my Vulcan, come to find out, Evgeny said it was a fill probe o-ring. BUT, it’s a little tighter and it works just fine so I left it in place. That was 3000 pellets ago…………………. :4:

Instead of locktight just rap the screw with teflon tape. I did that and it worked

May also be able to do the same thing here that Ernest did to the tank’s bleed-screw?…by adding an o-ring

Tony solved the air leak for me. It is coming out of the Breech screw the one on top in front of the magazine and he said to put some blue locktite on it.

Thanks I will if it doesn’t stop once I put in a new one.

I had the same thing happen it just went away after I lubed it just stopped I spoke with Ernest he said u can put a lil larger oring than the oem size if needed pm him he will know the size I bought kits from him he labels them where they go sent several for Vulcan front to back

I found it and they are different. I removed the O-ring it has no signs of damage. I am going to order a few more to have on hand and hopefully it will solve my issue.

Breach O-ring 25. cal is 6.5X1.0 metric. Read Keyser’s post on O-rings above for the list!!

Is the breech O-ring same as the 25 maruader?

The o-ring in the barrel

Check to see if the o ring is nicked of deformed, it my haVe a small tear in it.
