Q:

Smooth twist barrel conversion

I love the accuracy of the CZ barrels but hate cleaning them after 300-350 shots because of POI drifting. Does anyone know where can I get a ST barrel to convert my standard .22? Thanks

I use Dri Slide , Just a tiny bit to use on the last patch, I can really tell the difference in the 25 as I do not have to clean barrel as often,,
Put it on your fingers and wait a minute and see how hard it is to wash off, Gets into the pores of your skin and metal .

I’ve been using one shot for years and you can sure tell how easy it is when you chamber a pellet. Your barrel stays cleaner longer. And yes start calling now, operators are standing by…..

Ya, I don’t mine cleaning also if it gets me that 1/4″ ctc grouping at 50 yards I’m happy.

Just clean my Cricket 22 std today, 3 wet and 3 dry with the PatchWorm that’s all it took.
I haven’t polished my barrel and don’t think I need to after some 25K pellets through it so far.
It was indeed harder to clean when I first got it, but now it’s not so bad.

I just rebuilt my reg on my 22 Cricket, so I’m back to paper punching her for awhile to see how she holds up.
Tuned to send JSB 18g @ 880 fps, filled to 200 bar down to 120 bar I’m getting 4 mags – 56 shots.

Each row is from left to right is 1 shooting season, the numbers 1 – 4 indicates the mag in uses, the bull is .177″ mid ring is .5″ and outer ring is 1″.

All shot at 50 yards with little wind, wind flags where placed every 25 yards and 1 beyond at 75 yards …..
Shot off of 2 Caldwell bags rested on my tail gate of my Toyota Tacoma.

The chrony results after the rebuild, reg set to 125 bar.

Nice indeed ! Very nice. And no reason for polishing if it shoots steady and cleans easy. I quess those 25K pellets have taken care of the polishing part .. 🙂

The ST barrel isn´t any less picky what comes to cleaning it. And what´s so hard about cleaning the Cricket barrel anyway ? A couple of pulls with a PatchWorm every now and then ( i did that every time i´d shot mine ) and the barrel is cleaned. Takes about 78.3 seconds to accomplish. A bit cheaper option compared to a new barrel. If there´s nothing wrong with your OEM barrel then what´s the Point ? If you want to get rid of some excess Money you can make a couple of calls to 1-800-ZONKIE and donate 5 USD per call to Zonksters lobotomy.

I actually like cleaning my barrels. I can then clean up and polish gun too as it can get dusty and dirty if exposed to barn elements. I’m not sure why the complaining. Maybe its something that guys didn’t expect to do. I was one of them I must say. I love doing it now.

Me too ! I love the tinkering/cleaning part . When i was still racing motocross i enjoyed working on the machinery almost as much as riding and racing them. Same with Cars , and occasionally , with the Wifey.

I lube my pellets with this stuff plus polished barrel. I would say when I’m finished a tin of pellets its due for a cleaning.
Description:
One Shot Case Lube is the most popular reloading cartridge and tool lubricant in the market, because; Case Lube is a dry film “Boundary” lubricant that is non-hazardous, does not contaminate powders or primers, and the “DynaGlide”™ technology exceeds US Military & NATO load carrying capacity requirements by 6 times. Precision shooters appreciate One Shot Case Lube’s clean, non-sticky, quick and easy application when loading large volumes of rounds at a time. The flexible all-purpose dry film lubricant use on their other reloading tools is a major bonus.

Features:

• Improves tool and die performance and extends service life.
• A high speed “micro penetrating”, high pressure dry film.
• Will not contaminate powder or primers.
• Evenly distributes lubricant over the entire case (won’t creep or migrate).
• DynaGlide Plus® prevents tarnish, which in turn reduces drag on case extraction and helps prevent scoring/scratching damage
• Offers advantages in critical match load accuracy.
• Eliminates the paste lubing mess.
• Improves ejection and reduces scoring and scratching of cases.
• Minimizes jamming problems in semi-automatic firearms.
• Works great for lubricating presses and other equipment

I would try it when I receive them from Ville. I’m still waiting for delivery.

The air arms pellets are not as oily as the jsb, they feel dry to the touch so maybe you should try some of those?

(I know the are made in the same factory but they have a different mixture of lead)

Of course JSB I have any choice. Maybe I can try to washout the pellets.
