4-500 bucks for a barrel…omg

You might call AZ for a 16-18in barrel. The new SS benchmark .25 cal
barrel with 3 lands and $400-500 is an option if you want to consider.

thanks for all the answers but 230 bucks wowsa thats simply too much

im looking for an accurate barrel thats 16-18″ long in .25 for a Rapid, threading would be a bonus

right now the gun is a fucking fishing rod at 48″ (shrouded), just too much

Guys, the Smooth Twist barrel does not have a removable choke! The last 3” of the muzzle end of the barrel is machined down, threaded and then the reduced section is put in a 6 jaw hydraulic press and the Smooth Twist rifling is pressed into the barrel from the outside.

Each of the 6 jaws has a raised line in them and when the press pushes the jaws together, the barrel is distorted inside. It is not really rifling, the barrel comes out looking more like a polygonal rifled barrel.

The end cap screws on over the pressed section and is threaded for a shroud. Nasser PMed me asking if I could buy him one and send it to him. I was curious also so, I ordered 2 from AOA.

I fitted it to my R2.5 25 cal long and I thought that it was about equal to the stock R2.5’s LW barrel. It wasn’t near as good as the Leupy BSA that I had on the gun at the time.

IIRC, Naser was happy with his ST barrel out to 100 yards or so. He felt that the ST barrel would let the pellets destabilize after 100 yards.

I bought a NOS BSA Lone Star 25 cal just for the barrel. I wanted the barrel for my R3 25 long. The ST barrel ended up on the Lone Star and I sold it to a buddy.

Every time I look at the pic that shows the muzzle of the ST barrel and I see the demented clown’s face inside it, it sorta creeps me out! 😯

I have a couple hammer forged barrels from TJ’S Enterprises (Mike 859-391-3363) and I would recommend them to you guys if you can’t get a good quality BSA barrel. He offers a butt load of caliber sizes and twist rates. He forges the blanks in 6’ lengths so; you can get any length you want, as long as it is under 6’. 😆

25” long blanks go for $106.25 + $14.50 S&H.

Cheaper? A blank is over twice as much as a LW barrel.

from a manufacturing standpoint, id think.

the choke really screws on? so if you leave it off, its a smoothbore?

The FX air rifles use this type of rifling. I am not sure how well they shoot. The M16 used to use it. They shot horribly.

The greatest advantage of these barrels, with the exception of the screw on rifled choke, is they are easier and less expensive to manufacture. Take a smooth bore, insert reverse rifled rod a few inches into muzzle and roll choke barrel. Viola! You now have a smooth twist barrel.

Now with the removable rifled choke, that just begs for experimentation.

Who knows, with the right projectile it might work great.

As far as I know yes. Gearhead was doing the work on the guys parts. I just machined the barrel for him. It shot 7 rings pretty good. He shot the barrel in his gun.

Just a weird concept. The last 4″ or so screwed on and it had the twist and choke in it.

Yes. I machined a .25 for a condor for someone. Weird concept. I think the blank was $230.00. A bit pricey.

You know if they got good results?

funny how they come standard with a threaded muzzle.

id like to try one, but yeah, for the price of blanks and machining, i just went bsa.

Hey Cyn!

Yea, AOA has them.
