So, what’s my options here..
So, I just picked up a used condor with a 12 inch .177 barrel.
I have read with the condor in .177, you need a special tank. ($207), but the barrel is probably too short for the power of the Talon tank.
I am not interested in the power of the condor in .177.
So, should I de tune it into a .177 plinker and add baffles in the extra tube room. ( what I really think I would like to do.)
Or should I sell the .177 barrel, and buy a different caliber barrel?
I already have a 12 inch .22 Talon from r&l that runs at 30+fpe for power.
Suggestions please.

The .22 has the extreme valve from R&L, I wasn’t about to put it on the ..177.
I thought about it, but didn’t do it.
I talked to randy about the condor, we are working to make it a high shot count, plinker.
Going to order a tank just for it,,
It didn’t come with the bottle.
I thought about using my bottle from My talon .22 from r&l
I have not moved the hammer weight yet.
I am interested in the low power plinking out to 50 with the .177 and high shot count.
I don’t mind replacing the main spring if necessary to get the shot count.
But didn’t want to have a tank dump as they say can happen with a non condor .177 specific valve.
I have a line on a 24 inch .22 barrel to put in it but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Does that bottle have a high flo valve like the condor comes with or the standard valve like the talon? If it is a standard valve then you wont get tank dumps because it wont be a condor but a talon and the standard valve the talon comes with works for all calibers. The only time you have to worry about possible tank dumps would be using a high flo valve made for the .22 and .25 with a .177 barrel.
If you want a 10m indoor gun buy the Micro-meter valve/tank from AirForce.
That is my plan. I have a Talon SS in .22 and plan to swap it with the R&L valve/tank set up for outdoor use.

Personally if your looking for a low power plinker in 177 id say rock what you have with the 12 in barrel and make a quick shim to go under the tophat. I use plastic washers from an old garden shed i put together. Drill out the center to 1/4 in then sand down to the diameter of the tophat. After that sand to thickness that gets you the velocity you want. Out of a standard tank you can get a ton of shots that way and it acts as a poor mans regulator.
I converted my .22 x 24″ Condor to .177 x 12″ barrel and loved it for up to 50 yard shooting.
I used the Condor valve. Most said it couldn’t be done but I was after low power accuracy and made it work.
Do you know if the gun was purchased new as a .177 or .22 ❓
AF supplied a different valve if bought as a .177.
Anyway, you can make it work.
I don’t know if it would have come without the hammer spacer/weight or not.
My trick to make mine work was to put the hammer spacer in front of the hammer spring.
That effectively reduced the total hammer+ spacer weight but maintains the spring tension + a little because it doesn’t seat perfectly against the power adjuster.
So you end up with a lighter hammer that still opens the valve fine.
I sent it off for a .257 conversion and would really miss it if I hadn’t bought a..22 Vulcan.
Also I’ve changed chrono’s twice an don’t think I have any data here but there should be some in the archives on the forum somewhere.

Well if that’s what you want to do, then that’s what you should do!
If you have an older condor with a 2 part hammer 20gn spacer and 45gn hammer.
1) Take out the 20gn spacer..just take it out and set the power level to 3-4
2) You can most likely use any tank you have, tank dump is usually caused by trying to get more air/ more POWER out of your tank.
3) Fill the extra barrel tube room with baffles.
4) Tank dump is fun, everyone should do it once or twice
Try the above and see how it works..
If you want to add some degree of regulation..on the cheap..then
Get a tippman 13cu paintball tank and a Air force CO2 adapter…add 2 Belleville washers to up the paintball reg to 1300-1400psi from the stock 800psi.
I have the above on a 12″ .22 and get 70-80 shots off a small 13ci tank at 600fps.
