Solenoid question…
So I am thinking of converting my Royale 400 to bullpup and gonna use a tube instead of the bottle. With that I would like to try to use solenoid to push the trigger to avoid the extra work of making the push rod.
Do any of you guys know of what solenoid is good to use and what momentary switch should be used as well? I understand that most people don’t deal with solenoids in guns here but maybe someone here into electronics and knows about push type solenoids to actuate a trigger? Which one and where to buy?

Well, I am not interested in using solenoid to open the valve but only to push/pull the trigger while I turn the momentary switch on. I am not sure what that means when they say that solenoid on paintball has 3 burst mode or full auto. Can that solenoid push/pull the trigger just once while i am activating the switch? I definitely don’t need solenoid keep pushing the trigger multiple times.
I feel like an idiot asking this cuz maybe it is common sense about solenoids but I am just learning.
Naser, does your solenoid that you used for the Evanix pull the trigger just once when you activate the switch? Where did you get that thing? How did you install it?

There is a difference between a electronic trigger driven using a solenoid like the one shown on the yellow & using a solenoid to drive the valve like the one used on Daystate MCT rifle. The first one is pretty easy since you don’t need that much force while the 2nd one you will require a lot more force & with that you have two issues one is that you can’t drive such a powerful solenoid with 12v or even 20v & that’s where you will need a capacitor with something around 50-60v & the other problem is that with higher force comes less solenoid travel.
the solenoid used on paintball guns aren’t going to cut it since these rifles are regulated to a lot less pressure & obviously require less force to open that valve.
Here is a 555 timer PCB I made for my Evanix Max to drive the trigger & time that lousy motor & buggy gearing system they use. These two pot can be adjusted in millisecond.

Check out the paintball web sites. A lot of paint guns have electrical triggers to permit rapid fire.
Generally they will have parts, access to parts, or a parts list that you can use.

Nasser, how does the valve driven design look like? And can’t the solenoid have a lever or gear system to give it a mechanical advantage and allow the use of a smaller solenoid?
