Some Chairgun Stuff
Here is just one of the things you can do with the free Chairgun
download….Once you have shot some chrony strings and targets you can
enter the information and come out with a lot of neat stuff…..This is
under Tools/Label,etc/Range cards..This is a card that will tell you how
many clicks to adjust the elevation for a given distance…I have it set to
every 10 yds but you could set it pretty much any way you want…..You
just adjust the program for the scope cap size and print…

I agree no one gets the same BC so to be sure you would have to calculate it yourself. I bet the BC for two pellets out of the same tin will have a different BC if tested in an eastern state and a western state. 😀
I hadn’t notice that bit of info stower…Interesting in deed. That could be
another check to see if things are lining up the way they are suppose
to…I mean if the per yd click value is 2 at 50-51yds and 10 at 100-101
yds then I would think something is wrong with the information I put
in..Now you’re gonna make me look at all of it again….lol 😀
Yea I zeroed at those yardages so I wouldnt have us a mildot on my
65yd target…It also helps to be able to use the whole mildot range on
the scope when it is on X32 magnification…..Now that I have started
using the clicks, I don’t have to worry about running out of mildots but I
do need to see how much range I have as far as click go…..I just haven’t
counted them yet…I have a phoebia about moving the turrets….Once it
is set, it is really hard to get me to screw with it…OCD I guess….I still
think that using mil dot is faster though, I am not sure if I will stick with
using the click….I have to do math in my head to figure them and that
might not work real well under hunting conditions….Still a cool program
and has allowed me to see and learn a lot about accurate scope setup..
X2 and it makes a MASSIVE difference to the chairgun results. Chair gun say the Kodiak has a bc of .0370 and the H&N Barracuda as .0420 even though they are the same pellet!! 😆 Try flicking between the two and see what is does to the results 😯 😯
One of the problems is that every where you go to look up the BC’s for the different pellets, no one agrees at what they are.
It surprises me that the interval of clicks does not get bigger as the yardage increases, starts at two clicks per yard, ends at three clicks per yard. Still shooting fairly flat at that distance. 😯 With a fourteen and sixty four yard Zero? Wow. 😯 Pretty cool stuff Mam.
Well heck yea those results would be great Jeff. .3″ at 100yds could
easily be shooter error…….I was 8 clicks off at 80yds but right on at 35
and 65….I had to change the clicks/MOA to 11 instead of 8.11 or what
ever the default is to get it within +/-1 click on all 3 actual distances…….
Have you checked your click value? My scope says 1/4 moa per click but really isn’t.
I sure haven’t but I am thinking it might be wrong….I was out by 8 clicks
@ 100yds…Got it fixed….Now I am within 1 click +- at 4 different
yardages…I think I will quit screwing with it….lol

From my experience when I get current(not numbers from from two months ago) and accurate numbers chairgun is right on out to 65-70 yards but needs some adjustments when shooting at 100+ yards. Yes it is not perfect but + or -.1 inches at any range does not make a difference. Lets say I sight in at 40 yards and chairgun calculates -3.5 inches at 100 yards but my target shows -3.8 that .3 difference at 100 is only .12 at 40 so maybe my zero was slightly off and that is what caused the wrong elevation adjustment….just my 2 cents. How close is chairgun to your targets mamcrackin?
Exactly right pab….With just little testing, and tweaking I can get it to a point that it is more accurate than I am…
I also have never found it to be ‘spot on’ But definately close enough to give you a rough idea of whats gonna happen with various different set ups, which takes away alot of the fuckin’ about and lets you start in the right ballpark…
If accurate numbers are entered into chairgun the trajectory it calculates can be dead on. 🙂

I agree absolutely pab…I fill in all of the info then tweak the numbers
until they match my real world results on the targets..I shoot at least 3
different distances and then make sure the trajectory matches those 3
and go with that…It is not exact but it is as exact as I can make it…..I
tested the clicks at a bunch of different ranges and it seemed to be right
on…

So I checked it….I have 304 clicks up and 184 down…That gives me a
range of 0yds to 190yds…That should cover about as much distance as
I would ever need….I would imagine once I click to 190yds I could use
mildots if I needed to range more yargage. I am not quite sure how to
figure that one out….
