After I shot a few more groups with Beeman Match, but they were not as tight. I am testing different pellets for this gun (BSA scorpion) Any recommendations are surely welcomed, although I think the Jsb’s might be the top dog. I will post some crony numbers along with more groups soon.

My dragonslayer finally arrived—after being d*#@ed around by customs (so I was told) for 4 months. I can honestly say I was as excited, if not more excited than when my condor landed (can I say that?) I suppose it is because the long anticipation.

First impression was a good one. The stock seems like a very light wood, but it was finished pretty good. Only one rough spot where it could have been sanded better, but overall the stock is average in my opinion, which is fine by me as I plan to paint it camo in the future. The trigger guard is cheap plastic. The bluing was pretty good. The built in pressure gauge appears to go to 2500 psi, but my scuba tank said it was 3,000 when the gauge on the gun read 25. I started out with the Hornady .490 round balls and I must say I was quite impressed with the accuracy.

The top left group was done with the PA 250 gr Round Nose Pellets, and man do they hit hard! After that group, I fired another 5 shot group with the Hornady .490 and four of the five shots were Hole in Hole. The other shot was touching the hole so this was the tightest group. (see photo below)

After that I decided to blast through a P.T. 2×8 @ 25 yards. Obviously the 250 grainers were devastating, but the .490 round balls held their own and blew through the 2×8 with ease (I know, this is redundant info on this rifle, but cut a newbie some slack, why don’t ya! Besides, there maybe other newbies greener than me reading this 😆

Since the wood stock on the Draonslayer is nothing to write home about, I plan on hitting it with some bedliner, and then a wicked camo paint job. I’m not sure which style yet, but when I get it done, I will post some pics of it. Also, I plan to get it out to the range soon to test and I will post some 50 and 100 yard groups with it. I must say that I was quite impressed with the shots per fill (although I have not tested it to exhaustion yet) I fired four 5 shot groups and the POI was not affected at all on shot 20. I would like to have continued on to find out how many shots it would take till it started to “drop off”, but I didn’t have the time. I will do it in the future and post results (if anyone has this knowledge from their dragon experience please chime in. Good night to all.[/img]
