Q:

Somebody help me!! The Cricket Bullpups is calling me! Any o

Hello everyone,
Darryl here. I usually check out the Yellow and the GTA . Was drawn here because of a post on the Yellow by SP/springloader. He posted about the CalibrAirguns Cricket Bullpup: http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1302301574/1st+impressions+on+the+bulpup

I currently own springers, but I think I’d sell my meager collection to finance a Cricket. I’ve contacted the company for information. I’m ready to descend into the darkside of PCP guns (if I could swing one of these). I live deep in the urban core, and would like to have a quiet PCP for pest control. I’d thought the Marauder, and still do, but now I’ve seen the Cricket. How ya gonna keep ’em down on the farm once they’ve seen Paris?

Anyway, just saying hello.
shoot straight!

quote Hoot:

The bullpup is a European commodity. No such North American product exists at this time. Barring a few home made stocks and converted long guns.

Hoot, what you say is so true. Good thing truth is transitory, and propelled by change. Maybe one day American-made bullpups. 😉

Wouldn’t most people feel safer knowing a corporation was behind a product? No offense to Ed. I suspect he owns the corporation of EdGun, which may be rather much smaller, given your example. But geographically, Mother Russia, I agree is quite a stretch; a long supply line, as it were.

So, American Bullpups competitive with the Edgun or the multi-shot Cricket Bullpup exist? I’m a total PCP noob, so don’t mind my asking.
Darryl

Buying an exotic bullpup from Mother Russia, without guarantee of product support is a unwise gamble.

It’s going to malfunction eventually. Unless you can find someone who knows the rifle inside and out, and a machinist who can fabricate replacement parts, then you end up with a $2000 boat anchor.

Russia is in no hurry to export these items, and their customs restrictions are quite prohibitive.

Right now, the Edgun is the only safe high-end bullpup game in town, and finding one for sale, new or used, is not a guaranteed transaction, but at least Ed has someone in the U.S. who knows the rifle and can get parts. Plus, he has a proven history of personally standing behind his product to the point of contacting each owner individually and helping assisting with a minor repair, or part replacement.

There’s a reason there are so many of us waiting in line now for his next version, which we may not see until next Fall. Some things are just worth waiting for.

Cricket appears to be a corporation. Edgun is owned by Ed. BIG difference when it comes to tracking down someone who can help you with any problems that come up.

Thanks for the tip. $2000.00 seems quite reasonable (for Bill Gates!! ) 😥
I’ll have to focus my Bullpup dreams elsewhere until I get 6 good numbers.
I wonder if that’s a firm price? (just dreaming).

any Bullpups out there priced like a Marauder?

Nope. Probably in the bars at this time. Maybe Monday? Maybe CalibrAirguns has gotten a million of these product inquiries from the U.S.

Have you heard back from the company?
