Q:

South paw

For those that shoot left handed and can’t stand the sidelever poking your cheek. Or you are tired of compromising comfort and mount your scope way forward to avoid the poke; my remedy for shooting left handed. Relief cut with pneumatic cut-off, bend into place and mig weld. Grind/buff to finish.

Hey ZX
That’s a cool looking Mod, It looks a lot easier to get a finger in there and pull it back,
oh oh I think I may start shooting left handed, I feel my right hand going numb, LOL.
Mike

Thanks. I like it. You overusing the right hand, huh?

That’s a nice solution for sure. Is the cocking handle easy to remove and work on? I also shoot rifles left hand due to my eye dominance and have both Edguns and a Mutant. I left the Mutant lever as is since its nicely beveled and shaped making the cheek weld fairly comfortable. I can reach in with my left hand and cock it pretty quick.

If you do want a true lefty the MUTANT allows for switching the lever to the left side.

Actually, the sidelever is about impossible to remove. I didn’t remove it. I placed a heat shield blanket around the action while welding the modded lever.

Yes sir, I just ordered a .25 Veteran Standard from Tony. I can’t wait to get it. It will be my hunter as I will shoot the 25.4 in it. Hoping to dial it in for 900 fps and get at least 50 regged shots on a fill.

As for this Cricket, I just resealed the whole gun and installed a brass hammer weight and heavier hammer spring that I got from Ernest. I bumped the reg to around 142 bar or so. I am getting at least 36 regged shots from a 240 bar fill with the 34.95 gr MK1 @ 900 fps. I still haven’t ran an entire string yet but it’s looking very good. Accuracy is great.

ZX , thank you for your offer that was really nice of you . However , I’m going to wait and see how the new
gun from Kali works out as a semi-auto . If it doesn’t pan out then I may have someone like Kesyer make me
a custom .30 Leski .

That’s a nice offer SP.

I improvise. You, Bird, obviously can as well. I understand your hard nose approach in refusing to buy from a manufacturer that doesn’t take your needs into account. However, the Cricket is an awesome gun. The power potential is tremendous and it is a robust build, not to mention, super potential for accuracy. Thus the reason I have found an easy way to make it work for me. Buy one and I’ll mod yours for free. Just send it to me in Texas. Thank you for your service to our country.
I did my own form of sniping yesterday:

Salt , said all that I had to say on this subject . Those who make guns only for right handed shooters will lose a lot
of money by not making their product also for left handed shooters . When I was young we lefties had no choice
but to have to learn how to shoot rifles made for right handed shooters . I learned how to be able to shoot both left
and right handed . However , shooting as a left handed shooter is more natural for me and as a sniper in the Vietnam
War allowed me to make 43 personal kills . Now as far as I’am concerned this subject is dead and passe . :5:

Dang Birdie, don’t beat around the bush,,, tell us what you REALLY think! :suprisedn: :suprisedn: :8:

I’ve got that same lefty disease too… My first 2 repeater PCP’s/Bullpups were crickets… That’s why I eventually got a Vulcan… It’s way more comfortable to shoot and even moreso with that forward cocking side lever but…. It is still not the gun my Crickets are. They are just smoother, more accurate and more shots/fill. I like my Vulcan, but if I get serious about wanting to hit something out there a ways, or if what I’m shooting at is a larger animal that needs a little extra punch, I will take the Cricket over the Vulcan every time…

…still wish they’d offer the lever on the other side tho…

I’m a lefty and my solution is very simple to an air gun that is set up only for a right handed shooter . Do not
buy it , if the maker is such a prick and can not be opened minded enough to make their product to be able
to be used by a left handed shooter as well then fuck them and their product because there are a lot of lefties
in the shooting world and they will lose a lot of money by being totally stupid for making their product for a
right handed shooter only .

That’s cool. For me, the Cricket is king right now. This mod took me all of 30 minutes. If it’s easily remedied, why not. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve thought just like you before. Problem is, just because the manufacturer won’t make accommodations for the minority, left handed shooter, you miss out on some very nice things. Do you fish? Left handed reel?

Neat! Reminds me of a biathlon style lever
