Just thought I’d make a quick post as I enjoy seeing what others use to hunt/shoot with. I also enjoy hunting photos. Here’s what I use when I hunt. .25 cricket with 8-32 aeon scope trajectory recticle(I think that is what they call it.) jsb’s, 1600b rangefinder, wind meter and my secret weapon the water flavoring bottle. I think one of the reasons I enjoy airguns, aside from the opportunity shoot shoot more, is the precision that’s required to make consistent shots at longer ranges. In recent yrs I’ve been shooting long range pb’s and really enjoyed that. This is very similar. You have to know the distance and be able to read the wind and know your weapon and be able to shoot it. Take your time on each shot to evaluate the conditions then reevaluate after the shot and learn. If your wondering the flavor bottle makes a super wind direction detector. I fill them with carpenters chaulk. I fill with neon orange and use it often. Every few minutes in the field. I tried for a long time to find a good cheap solution for this and this work great. Anyway the gophers are out in full force and I’ve really enjoyed the cricket so far. This is my first gopher season with it and it’s been great. I’m amazed at its ability to kill at extended ranges. The other nice thing is it has allowed me to get access to places I could never hunt even with a .22 rimfire. Here’s a few pictures I hope I haven’t bored anyone and I hope you enjoy. Thanks.

It’s the one from Wild West. Actually got it from Ernest. I didn’t care for the design so I cut the stem off flush with the end of the threads. Next put it in my lathe and bored a hole in the threaded portion large enough to allow the hammer spring to fit inside. Then another hole further in the knob portion and threaded it. Next I made a new inner spring guide and threaded the end to thread into the inner hole. Not sure if you can follow what I’m trying to explain but now the adjuster has an inner and outer spring guide. As well the adjuster now threads in further and is not sticking out too far. Anyway I guess the answer is yes and no.
Where’d you buy that power adjuster? Seen similar in brass but not silver, or is it the WWAG one? Can’t tell from the pic 🙂

Thanks elect and others. I always wonder if it’s worth the bother to show this stuff. Every once in a while I get lucky and have a good idea.(The wind detector. ). It’s nice to share it with someone who can use and appreciates it and the feed back is nice to get.

Thanks. The level is called a b-square weaver rail bubble level. They are like 20 bucks off eBay. They extra wood on my gun is actually a piece of wet formed leather that I’ve attached using double sided foam tape they use to hang pictures on the wall. Extremely strong yet comes off and leaves no residue. I think made by 3m. I dyed it dark brown but it needs to be dyed black to be less noticeable. Brown was all I had. Someone on here was using foam I think to quiet the hammer slap but I thought the leather would work and look better and be more durable. Seems to work ok. The longest shot I think I’ve made so far on a gopher is probably 120. 80-90 is pretty common though. I haven’t really had a nice day with less wind yet to try further.
dman, I was going to ask the same question…Nice setup Juice. That .25 sure does the job on those critters.

Looks like heaven (except for the snow)! Yip yip! For the moment I stick my Aeon 10-40x50mm on a .223 for sod poodles and it is very good.
