Q:

Spring silencer

While shooting my condor SS today, I noticed a piece that looked like paper sticking out of the power wheel slot.
It was stuck in the spring coils and protruding out of the slot where the power wheel graduations are. I pulled it on out and to my suprise the printing on it said SPRING SILENCER Has anyone else experienced this? Does this thing need to be in there for the rifle to function properly or should I just go ahead and shoot it. I have shot it since this happend and can not tell any difference in the noise or the functioning of the rifle.

I tried it. I put four extra on for good measure! It did make a noticeable difference in that it erased all spring noise entirely. Could never hear even the faintest spring. Thanks for the tip! Now if I could get that muzzle a bit quieter!

Hay that’s a good tip, I will put a couple more home made spring silencers on. It can’t hurt.

No lube throughout the frame, IMO it will just collect more dust.
I clean it out with denatured alcohol every now and then.

Some do like to lube the hammer/spring area.

This is a great thread.

GKU… Very good idea to use the shrink tubing. I’ll be getting some right away. Do you use moly or anything to make the plastic/rubber slide smooth? thanks

Thanks for the info. What do I have to do to get to the spring to add the shrink tubbing to the spring?

If you can tell the difference, then you don’t need it.

I hear a twang from the spring without it.
I added 2 more on mines and placed shrink tubing over the worn out areas on the spring as friction glides.
