SS and bulk fill questions
I have looked till my eyes are strained but cannot find the information i`m looking for.
I am considering purchasing a Disco or a Talon SS.
When I buy either, I want a bulk fill system.
A local dive shop has priced a 80cf tank at a reasonable price and refills are also reasonable.
I did the figures for the Disco.
With a 126cc resivour on the gun and an 80cf 3000psi fill scuba tank, I should get about 80 fills, 1000-2000, calculated at AirHog.
My question is what is the volume of the tank on the SS and how many good refills can I expect on the SS using an 80cf tank filled to 3000 psi.
Also, EXACTLY what adapters and hoses is needed to fill the SS from a scuba tank.
” K ” valve?.
I`m thinking about an SS with 20-25 ft/lb output.

I have been shooting springers for a long time and was considering a high powered springer.
After studying PCPs for a while, I realized they would be a better choice for high power, ” 20 ft/lb ” and above.
I only have one dive shop in my area. I stopped in the other day and talked with the owner. He was a super nice guy.
He offered me an 80cf tank for $100.. Tank was good for I think he said four years.(hydro).
He said it only needed inspection once a year @ 10., and $5. for each 3000 psi refill.
He did not have anything in the 4300-4500 psi range. When I mentioned 4500 psi fills, he hesitated.
From looking on the net, it seems the high pressure tanks are expensive.
I have been considering the Condor, Talon SS, and the Discovery.
I want power, accuracy, and quiet in one package if I can get it.
I guess you can tell that I don`t know all I know about PCPs.
Right now i`m trying to understand the difference between regulated and unregulated air guns.
I know I don`t need a scuba tank with the Discovery but, I do at the present time have a torn rotator cuff in my shoulder.
Besides, if i`m going to consider high pressure PCPs, then I think I should get acuire some form of portable fill station for the home.

Gun to be used for punching paper, squirrels, and varmints out to 50 yards. Anything beyond that and i`ll pull out my .22s and .17s.
What is your primary intended purpose of this gun? I dont own a disco, but they seem to be a hell of a gun “for the money”. Unless your getting a disco or a SMOKING deal on the 80/3k tank or if your going to get an A.F. rifle, save up a little more and get a larger and higher pressure tank. BUT see what your dive shop can fill to.
The link shrpshotr gave is also a good place for pellets. You will need plenty 😆 😆 😆 I am also new to PCP’s and the Talon is my first. I sold several of my springers and have not missed them. If you order pellets through pyramyd try to get the order over $150. At this level you will get free shipping plus every 4th tin free.

You will not get as many fills with the talon as with the Discovery, but you will get more shots per fill. A friend of mine has both guns, so he can use more of the air in his scuba tanks. He’ll fill the talon until the scuba tank gets too low, then use that tank to fill the Discovery for a while since it uses a lower fill pressure.
There is nothing to regret about a talonss (except the ever increasing budget for ammo since they are so much fun to shoot).

I usually start at 2600psi and shoot down to about 2200psi before filling on my Talon ss .22 12″ barrel. Every tank valve set seems to have its own personality, but from what I have seen on this forum. 2600-2800 psi is a common starting point. These pressure ranges will make number of fills vary a lot. Based on the numbers for my rifle a 3000psi 80cf scuba would get me about 23-24 fills. Also, you will not regret the purchase of an Air Force rifle. I have only had my SS for a few months, but am very impressed with the quality and versatility along with the individuals who are making some high quality add ons. Good luck with your purchase….. 😀

Can you advise me on the necessary hardware to connect and fill an AF tank from an 80cf 3000 psi scuba tank?.

Well I’ll go out on a limb here, since you want the level of power you want that your going to use it fo hunting. If your used to springers your going to think the A.F. Is LOUD!!! Think .22 rimfire loud. With your shoulder being hurt you definately need a tank. That is a good price too.
