Q:

Standard Condor Stem Valve with no mods.

Yes , it’s true , I’m new to pcp air guns . However I’m not as stupid as some may think . Enough said , I have the newer model Talon SS .22Cal. with a 12″ barrel and Spin-Loc Tank with of course the standard Talon Stem Valve . I was wondering if it would be possbile to take a standard Condor Stem Valve not modified and exchange it with the present valve ? Also would this enhance the performance of my rifle or am I just blowing smoke up in the air ? Any one is welcome to reply and at my age my skin is really thick so if your answer is rough that’s OK ,it is what it is . THANKS , from the birdman

Birdman,
Maybe we should combine threads. We seem to have the same goals starting out with a .22 Talon SS. I have a .25 …18″ TT barrel with TT QUIET shroud and am planning a Condor conversion.

And you can have Tony do up a 16 17 or 18″ barrel for you, and it will work just fine with the talontunes LDC! 😉 Did it for years with a talon ss and an 18″ bbl. :8:

And you will get the higher shot count of the smaller talon valve while getting higher fps with the longer barrel. In fact, your shot count will be higher than what you are getting now, due to more effeciency from the longer barrel. 😀

Knife

stem, top-hat ,brass insert, and spring, and spring retainer, your good to go, you may have to get the delrin plug too.

Thank you guys for the feed back , for now , I like my 12″ barrel set up as is except for wanting to add Tony’s 9″ SHROUD to my barrel to help my rifle to be as DIRT QUITE as possible . Later I may ask Tony if he can do a 14.5″ .25 Cal. barrel for me and still be able to use his 9″ SHROUD . I’M very lucky that all of the critters that I shoot all are within 40 yds. , and from 25 to 40 yds. I hammer them with JSB Exact in 15.89 gr. anything under 25 yds. get hammered with EUNJIN domed 28.5 gr pellets . My scope is a VISM 3x9x42 with built-in red laser .I really enjoy shooting my Talon SS , every critter I shoot ends up taking a Dirt Nap forever . Thanks AGAIN , from the birdman

I think you are wanting to do what i did and get more velocity out of the 12″ barrel. i put a high flow tank on my .22 talon ss to see how fast and accurate that setup would be. Using the high flow tank i was able to push 21 gr. pellets well over 900 fps and the accuracy was very good. The cons to using that setup is the shot count to reach the higher velocity with a 12″ barrel and the noise was to loud. The 12″ required so much air to push the 18 – 21 gr. pellets to 900 – 950 fps that it was allot louder than my .25 condor ss. So i did the next best thing and replaced my 12″ with an 18″ and extended my shroud so it would be quiet and it is very quiet :smilen: So now i can push the jsb 18gr. pellets to 950 without using so much air and keep it quiet.
