Standard edgun as a ft rifle?
Can the standard matador in .177 be turned down to shoot at sub-12 fpe just by adjusting the hammer spring tension? Or would u have to mess with the regulator too? I was thinking about getting one for ft matches.

Could the leyla work for WFTF?
It sure is!
Btw, unless you are wanting to compete in the WFTF class you can have power up to 18ft-lbs for field target (including hunter class).
Isn’t the AAFTA match in ashland Oregon? I was thinking about taking a drive up there since I live in northern CA
I’m shooting JSB Exact Heavies at 890fps…
I’m headed up north to the AAFTA Western States FT Championships at the end of the month. I’m hoping/planning to be in the top five in the unlimited pcp division. I’ve been going up against some of the better west coast guys at the local matches and I think I have a good chance to score well.
I asked about a 17cal EdGun a while back since the caliber is (or was if it has changed) listed on their website. They don’t make them anymore but it’s not difficult to put a different barrel on the action. The hard part will be getting the power down. ๐
Gringo:
1. Have you achieved a stable sub 12 ft/lbs output just by turning down the reg.?
2. Are you coming to Norway for the World Championship in August ?
Cheers ๐
Hi Zocoloco!
1-Jus as part of a mayor tunning, with a BAM51 and a few “Carabina Shark” modified rifles, (originally CO2 .22 models). but ONLY vรญa regulator is almost a miracle ๐ ๐ ๐
2- nop, i miss this year, (my Father died 2 weeks ago). But Germany 2013 souns great!

I shoot FT matches all the time but i’m not in the WFTF class. I could tune my USFT’s down to 12ft-lbs but i’m not really interested in that division… Yet. ๐

12Ft/lb is 800fps with 8.4grains ๐
Iยดm asking Ed about it in the last month, as you can see on my signature iยดm an FT Shooter, an EdGun FANATIC!
My personal dream, a WFTF Morana or Matador winning the worlds ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
As long as you can keep a 177 pellet at or below 18ft-lbs you’ll be good to go… ๐
Unless you want to compete in the WFTF division which is 12ft-lbs or less…
You’ll need to ‘enhancements’ to get the rifle to position properly when you are seated. The stock bullpup config will definitely be an advantage at the forced offhand lanes. ๐
…or a new regulator output ๐
It could be done that way, – but you may find there’s not enough threads on the adjustment screw to get the tension you’re after…..
AND more importantly you may not achieve a stable shotstring over time…
In my opinion a serious adjustment to below 12 ft/lbs requires some choking of the transferport (or a new one) and a new and weaker hammerspring……
Cheers….. ๐

The Lelya would work but you’d be limiting yourself in the accuracy department with the shorter barrel when competing with folks with full length barrels. Plus it’s REALLY small for use in the sitting position…
I am hoping to run a modified version of the Lelya for the pistol class in FT (with a different stock of course) and then use the full stock version for silhouette competitions.
That or i’ll be using a TGAG SL-400 with the metal stock…

Why the WFTF class? ๐
