Q:

Steel Tipped Crow Magnums?

Has anyone tried gluing a BB into the hollow point cavity of a Crow Magnum pellet? I like the .177 caliber versions and am disappointed that they are not made in .22 caliber.

I was interested to see Leo’s response. It looks like he really did some testing with these. And it seems to work for him.

I tried it this morning after making my post and was disappointed with the terrible accuracy. I completely missed my target and burried the pelet in my wood failsafe backstop. I’m not impressed.

Yes, I do that myself. It works great. They fly straight, and penetrate deep.

Cro-Mags can be made to expand more on impact by cutting a x across the face with a sharp razor blade. Short range anyways, 30yds or so.They will almost double in size upon impact, the face peels out like a banana. The poly tipped preds., are very accurate at any distance and do the job well. Myself, i just use Kodiaks accurate, heavy, excellant BC = dead on arrival. I went through the whole try every pellet thing, just experimenting i guess. JSBs are my runner ups. I’ve found that settleing on Kodiaks and JSBs has taught me how these 2 pellets shoot through my gun, i know where they are going to land. Jumping from pellet to pellet can drive a guy crazy. Unless your already there ❓ .

Yes guys have done it in the past with out much success. The red tipped predators are about the best in expansion going on right know.
