Stikbutt?? 6-way adjustable?? Paintball tank accessory??
Ok guys,
I got sick of making E-TaCs and E-TaCREGs today. The challenge was posed a few days ago for an adjustable butt for the 48ci pb tank. Since I am sort of in the business of getting people to buy 48ci tanks, I thought I’d throw something together. Finish will be bead blasted matte. I might get them anodized if the response is positive.
I want your opinions, good, bad, funny, ugly, whatever. Would you buy something like this? What would you pay for it?
Just so you know, I could make them for any size bottle and make adapter plates for other rifles as well.
I looked at the cost of the “real” adjustables and was quite shocked. Perhaps I can make these for you at a reasonable cost.
BTW, I am tired and didn’t make this one very pretty, but if you know my work, it will be pretty when it’s done.
Straps on with hose clamps to keep the cost down. There will be two of the mounting blocks. (See paragraph above.)
It could also go to 7 way adjustability with an elbow in the LOP arm. Not a problem. (See two paragraphs above)
NO, those aren’t the correct bolts (see three paragraphs above)

We do try to get along. I don’t make shrouds and tune guns because my buddy Tony does and I would not make an ETac because you do.
We are a small community and want each other suport each other.

This air gun shit is getting expensive. I have a Condor, a SS with ETAC, a frame coming for my Airarcher, a Crosman 150 that dribbles pellets like my 60 year old dick and a 101 coming that won’t pump up.
No Wok don’t go there about not pumping up, because your the next guy I will probably send a fortune to because I will need a bunch of trigger guards.
Not to mention a couple more ETACS, at least I can see thru one of my scopes now, but not the one at the Bushnel repair center (Millet), not to mention getting hosed from Mithch Glover.
And of course I will have to send the old Crosmans to Dave Gunter to get them resealed.
Shit I could own a race horse for what all this stuff costs, and this is since September.
Maybe I could sell golf clubs on this site?

The part that the bolts clamp could have three slots instead of just one long one… That way the width of the slot could capture the bolt head or whatever you use and not expand that easily…

This is just the concept to show the 6 way adjustability. Mayhaps I’ll get it cleaned up and pretty and then try again. There are lots of ways to make it more expensive, but the function certainly is there.
I would say retail on this would be around $30 or so.
The Dave G is very nice, any idea on price? LOTS of machining there.
I certainly can make a better mount if the strap-on is a deal breaker.

Since your ETaCREG provides drop I think the butt plate will need to be directly behind the bottle not under the end of the bottle , as with the strap on Wokbut . I’m not real crazy about any strap on design .Idealy a disc held in place by a heavy neoprene cover like the stock bottle would be great but I expect getting the cover would be a problem . I’m thinking maybe a L bracket with the inside of the L epoxied to the bottem & back of the tank , then the tank wrapped in black cotton or nylon line similer to a fishing line guide on a fishing rod . The back of the L could be drilled & tapped to accept any kind of butt plate . Havn’t got it all worked out in my mind yet but I think a few more sessions on the porch swing with a 6 pac of miller lite and i’ll have it .
Where is the grace!!! 😯 One of my design professors used to say that all the time… 😆 With some refinement I could see this being a nice option with a tank strap or without.

This is not just for Jim, but for Wok and Tony and others, Subsonnic and Tagdagger to name a few, who dream up these parts for a clumsy rifle with a lot of potential.
You have that good old American inguenuity, you have taken this rifle and given it a life of its own.
The thing is, ideas are not unique, just about anything you ever thought of, has been concieved in someones mind at some time or another.
But you guys have had the intestinal fortitude to take it from an idea and to carve it out of steel and market it.
And sometimes you think along the same lines, and worry that you step on someones toes, then everybody exclaims how sorry they are.
I personaly think you guys are pure genious in action, with grace. I wish you could all get rich, probably won’t happen, but I sure have enjoyed the short ride so far.
