Q:

StormPup Smackdown

I was fortunate enought today to run into this Old Boar, the perfect 30 yards shot with the .357 JSB put him on the ground.

I was pretty bummed when I got home and realised that all the pictures I took but one wheren’t there 🙁

Hemn, why are there pigs in Kurdistan to begin with? If they are considered “Unclean”, it seems, if they cause field damage, they would have all been killed by now. Do they have some other value in a Muslim society? Just curious.

More than likely it is because there are more pigs than can be conveniently killed just like most of the areas bordering the back woods in the South here in the U.S. Pigs are smarter than dogs, have better noses and ears, can run faster and farther, they are much meaner, and live longer, have more young that reach maturity and breed. Look at the coyote problem in the U.S. Even with all of the hunters that we have the numbers just keep growing. In Iraq the people are trying to survive, they are in general poor, unarmed, and lack transportation; there aren’t enough people that have the resources to manage the population of wild pigs in the remoter areas that have enough rainfall to support agriculture.

I can do it only when you will be here, otherwise i will not kill anything if i not eat it.

One reason there is a feral pig problem in the proud Republic of Kurdistan is Muslims don’t eat pork! That’s an interesting religious taboo that goes way back into history. Certain animals were considered “unclean” and forbidden to eat. Back then, if people ate pork, sometimes they got sick and died. That was a good enough reason to not eat pork.

Not the prettiest, not the most refined,…but, Holy Cow this Pup is a mean sure Killer 🙂

Storm Pup takes more pigs outta the Hawaiian population!

Thanks.

Yep with the kind of precision we get out of our guns and a good knowledge of the quarry the ONE pellet is all you need 🙂

Say it isn’t so Manny???. One shot one kill!!!
And all I keep hearing from the bullpup haters is how important it is to not lose your sight picture for that much needed follow up shot.
You and I along with several others are proof that a properly executed first shot is typically all that is needed.
Another great hunt.

Nice!
1 shot DRT?

It’s always ONE SHOT, wether I use the .22 .25 or .357 it’s all about shot placement, ….and of course enought RPM behind a heavy pellet too 🙂

and the Evanix guns have that 🙂

StormPup does it again, nice hunting Manny. It would be cool if in the future you could take us along on your hunts with a GoPro cam 🙂 Just saying.

Nomadic;

Do you eat them? or you just hunt them for fun?
in my country hunters are usually don’t hunt pigs, and there are many, but when they hunt they will not eat them, because this is not allowed in our religion Islam.
but some times our christian brothers will ask but not all of them still.

BTW; this is really nice hunt & great rifle.
