Q:

Stubby and the M-Pup

These stocks are very comfortable to shoot. By R&L and Maddog. Under $900 bullpups (ok maybe Stubby is a carbine 🙂 ) that come pretty darn close to the pricy pups in many regards. Stubby has the sear upgrade and is set to 12 oz..

They are so good you can’t tell. That is the real McCoy off of my Cricket that is in the Deadpod – always at the ready. The wifey pooh made me ditch the ugly folding chair. At least she didn’t complain about the guns. 🙂

Those Atlas knock-off´s grace many rifles these days …
And why not – they work very well indeed.

Edit: Yours aren´t a knock-off maybe ?? Not the GB anyways…

Part II

Update:

My smart kid said this was better. See what too much college can do?

Voila Magpul

Still plenty of grip room

I shot it both left handed and right. Shooting right was a snap, your face just fits. H 😯 😯 t

How can that face fit to anything ??

I shot it both left handed and right. Shooting right was a snap, your face just fits. Left handed you need to move your cheek weld up a bit. Doug said he’s trying to develop a wooden cheek piece. The Maddog stock is wood, not synthetic, and very light. That “snout” can be easily removed either by Doug or yourself.

Baron von Sir Ville….shut up about my lip! Your wife said she liked it fine, because it’s longer than my tongue! Your mistress said the same thing! So there…besides, when your girlfriend was describing my “stroke” to you, she was trying to describe my hip movement, not my brain!!! Furthermore, it wasn’t my face “hanging” down. I’d forgotten to take my blue pill.

No wonder she likes Mick Jagger and Steve Tyler – the bitch have a lip fetish !! A man at your age should be careful with sudden hip movements. You could accidentally break it. No need to thank me for the advice- i just care for my fellow TAG member. Deeply … :6:

H 😯 😯 t’s lip reminded me. I had to bevel the Magpul mount bottom a bit to match the contour on the M-Pup forearm because it has a curve to it. 😉

The only time I find a magazine really useful on any of my PCPs is really sparrow shooting when the tree is loaded and the Cricket comes to the rescue and I keep flipping that lever. I drag Stubby through the woods and still prefer single shot. :4:

Yeah, single shot will work for sure,…..I just see that mag to be a major pain in the ass, right in the place where you wanna put your cheek,…good thing you don’t use them 🙂 🙂

Right! Good to know i´m not alone on this single shot-crusade. I received one of the very first MS kits from Ed and while a nicely made kit it wasn´t for me so i traded/sold it to Dr. Evil. I can reload just as fast – if not faster – with my SS. MS not needed for an precision airgun, IMO.

Stubby is tail heavy but that makes it really easy to hold a long time although I shoot mainly from a bench.

That shorty AF AG looks kind sweet! Although not a B’Pup, I love it. Just wish AF would come up with a lighter carbon fiber type bottle. Possibly somthing like what the Korean guns now are avaliable with. It would make a huge ifference in the balance and weight.

Seems odd that the Koreans, with such poor metalurgy, and workmanship would be way ahead of the fine guns from england, Russia, Sweden, even the so-so guns from the U.S. in this regard. 😕

Seems to me, not having the lip, but extending the stock out further, and adding an airtube extension would be a winner! 😉 😀

I even use the single shot tray on my Daystate Air Ranger. Only the Cricket has a magazine setup I really like (of the guns I own) and it appears the R3M may basically be similar.

Good looking tactical rifles there.

……the one thing I see about the Maurader is that the mag MUST be in the way, where in hell do you put your cheek ?

You can get the stock w/o the lower lip by request. 😛 I am putting a 5″ Magpul weaver mount on the bottom so the lip has a purpose (I just got back from the store with the black head wood screws coincidentally).

The Stubby with a 12″ .177 barrel will do 1/2″ groups at 50 yards with JSB 10.34s. Not sure about longer distances. It has an upgraded sear and the trigger is set at 12 oz.. The original triggers suck. 😮

The Marauder .25 with the Green Mountain barrel does about 3/4″ groups with JSB Kings at 50 yards. Not quite up to the other three.

So Stubby is pretty darn close in this configuration to the Matadors or Crickets out to 50 yards. The Maddog stock eliminates the flex and shifting POI issues on these guns. I have it tuned to 900 FPS.

quote Sir Ville:

I don´t know why i don´t like the looks of an synthetic BP eventhough i have to admit those look quite good. Much,MUCH better than the “Big Beluga” although the Mpup has that weird hanging lower lip. Kinda reminds me of this one old geezer i know who´s had a stroke and half of his face is hanging and so is his lower lip. That Mpup is like taylor made for him!
How do those two shoot compared to an EdGun? Power, shot count, spread and accuracy wise??

Yeah, single shot will work for sure,…..I just see that mag to be a major pain in the ass, right in the place where you wanna put your cheek,…good thing you don’t use them 🙂 🙂
