Sturdy pellet traps
Not a quiet design…but quite effective. Tested with .22LR @ 20 yards…no dents and the spent lead just drops out the back onto a dollar store cookie sheet for easy collection/clean up.
Made from 3/16″ steel plate and heavy auger tube. (.160″ wall)

Tomorrow night on Fox….Hoot…Slug Whisperer of Toad Suck.
Sounds like a new “reality tv” series to me.

HYFKMM!
A “Toad Suck Slug” is indeed faster than the common garden slug.
My biggest problem was getting them to crawl into the 10 shot magazine and wait their turn.
As for my “garden”, it is properly fertilized with the stems and seeds of a medicinal mountain herb, used for centuries to correct anxiety, weight loss, and inability to sit for long periods of time watching television.

Really? 😯
The slugs around here “move” pretty slowly…if yours are flying…damn. 😯 I’m almost…no…I AM afraid to ask what you use to fertilize your garden.
Makes a fellow wonder just what KIND of “learning and knowledge” is going on in and around Toadsuck.

It’s called “Non-ballistic Flight”…
Flying saucers and UFO’s do it all the time! So we know it’s possible.
Arkansas is a Mecca of learning and new knowledge…stay tuned!

Well, if you do succeed in getting the slugs to follow a funnel and re-route for collection, I’m sure I’m not alone when I suggest high quality video of the event is in order. Anyone who succeeds in training the common slug to do anything more than nature intended should be properly imortalized for the act.
I can see it now……”Hoot and his fabulous Circ de slug”.
To what do you attribute the trainable aspect of your slugs Hoot?

I can’t weld aluminum, but I can certainly nail it with copper nails, which I understand should hold quite well.
The real question is whether the slugs can be funneled into beer cans cut in half and routed down into a collector???? Will they be too thin?
Kind regards,

While I’m sure aluminum plate would stand up for a while, I have real doubts as to an aluminum traps ability to remain intact for the long term.
I guess you’re just going to have to build one and find out? 🙂
Take ‘er easy Hoot…or any way she’ll let ya.
Al
Aluminum plate???
Be a lot easier to tote around, and perhaps mail too.
No everyone can weld Aluminum, nor am I aware of the cost of 1/8″ to 1/4″ AL plate.
Does this sound feasible for air gun use?
Inquiring minds want to know. Us stupid people are curious as well!

Cut list:
From 3/16″ steel plate:
2pcs 12″x12″ for the angled plates
2pcs 12″x10 5/8″ for the sides (could alter this to 13″ x 10 5/8″ and close in the “flap” and the trap would sit “flat”.
3/16 flat bar:
2pcs 3″ x 6″ to close in the sides of the rear tube half.
Misc:
1pc 12″x 6″ diameter tubing. Cut in two equal pcs lengthwise. Wall thickness as close to 3/16″ as can be found…the auger tube I used measures ~.160″
1pc 12″ x 1/2″diameter hot rolled for the carry handle

Use and enjoy. 🙂

Love to see a cut list and drawing
Made them for my own use.
Don’t think anyone would want to pay the shipping on these. 😉
They come in around 35 lbs each.
Could provide a cut list and drawing if anyone were interested though.

kinda looks like a minature version of the shooting range traps that savage sells :thumb:

Are you selling them?
