suggest a very air effiecient HUNTING rifle for around $1k!
So I was thinking of getting an Air arms s510 to pair with my new .22 edgun r3m so don’t reslly want another bullpup just yet…
I want a gun with a GOOD (60+) shot count and preferably a power adjuster and sidelever action. Something different than my edgun to compliment it. I like to go hunting all day in the woods with a friend or my girl so having 2 high shot count guns is great
I also do a lot of backyard shooting so that’s why a power wheel is almost a must. Sound isnt too big an issue as I can akways get a good LDC plus the power adjuster would cover that.
My edgun is .22 so this time around I want at least a .25 and even considering a .30 or .357.. but id have to double check my states big bore airgun hunting laws…I live in CT
So yeah side lever and power adjuster are almost a must. I also would like a nice classics wood style gun this time too and would prefer it to be new for around 1k but if there’s something a bit more that I can get used and have it tuned and looked at I would consider that too.
Also really like the evanix sniper rifle but too conflicted on what caliber to get haha. Plus I haven’t seen any shot strings or long range groups. I prefer the gun to easiLy reach out to 100y to pair with my edgun.
So far it seems like the air arms would be the perfect choixce…also wanted a LW barrel. What type of barrel does evanix use?
So if you think the AA sounds exactly what I want let me know or if you had another gun in mind? Also any of you who have one think I should go for the thumbhole stock? Its $200 more but I really really like it a lot better than the regular one. I also like the look of the twin cylinder s510 and think the carbine version is very cool…almost like a sawnofd shotgun π still will have a higher shot count than normal 1 cyl
Any of you with an AA s510 want to chime in on how many real world hunting shots they get with the single or twin cylinder versions on high power?
Also the ONE must have requirement for this gun is that its not TOO heavy! I will be using a sling but will be in the woods all day with this and don’t want snything over 8lbs or so. The marauder is about as heavy a gun id buy
Open to all suggestions that are a PCP just include your personal exp with weight, shot count, etc
Thanks guys!

Yeah I meant if I was going to get a carbine version it’d be twin cyl. I decided I think I’m going to buy a new .25 walnut thumbhole from PA…if it’s not the shotcount I want and is a bit too bulky I’ll trade it in and get the carbine twin cyl, but then I’d have to change to a .22 unless I can get one as a “special order”? Or do they NOT even make the carbine above .22 cal? Not sure why most shot strings I’ve seen of the .25 only gets like a 38 FPE max…kind of pointless getting a .25 if this gun doesn’t push the pellets higher than 40 FPE out of the box… Most .22 cal guns can even do better than that with some power mods.
Oh well, that’s the reason I’m going to go with Pyramyd Air…they let you return/exchange a million times π Especially if its for store credit they could care less, usually end up making more money that way.
