You just made my Day Buddy!!! πŸ˜€
Thanks a Ton ….got to get going…..

Thanks Shadow for the input……

Now thats exactly, what I am looking for …….

Some more options Please…..as they do not ship to India.

The problem is that those Dremels dont have any torque. That thing would be fine for drilling holes in plastic or maybe even wood but your going to have a very hard time drilling metal.

Ive seen the same type of setup that uses a hand drill instead of a dremel. Still not ideal but it would do alot better than the dremel.

Something like this?

But I would like to ask again….Has anyone out here used the Dremel Bench Drill Press….

I ‘have read only negative reviews …Prove me wrong….

I found the one I saw at your home in my Hardware store…..Wanted a higher end model for doing precision work…

Cheers !!!

Did you find my work to be imperfect or out of tolerence for any reason? Please let me know so that I can rectify my mistakes. What exact precision work you intend to carry out beside enlarging transfer ports & tapping 3-4 mm screws in mod tubes? IF you intend to drill entire stem then you need to have proper lathe for that purpose.

No Mate You’re good with you work….
The one my dealer showed me was the same model but had all the paint worn out…The lever action had rust on the plating…on the main spring……..and lots of Blaaah Blaaaah …negatives to sum it up.
So overall I was just looking for something more precisely made….kind of fully chrome and better spring action so that the lever action would have a smoother flow while drilling…
But you said it right !!! We lack resources and I feel jealous to see our friends overseas have their own workshops in the basement 😈 😈 😈

The Only thing that keeps me moving is the solution spirit πŸ˜› on the forum…which then pacifies me to pursue my hobby…Cheers !!!

It will probably work, it just that they seem to have a lot of flex in the system. They just aren’t very ridgid. πŸ™

Sorry Guy. I’ve never seen a precision press using a hand drill. I’ve had several over the years. None were anywhere what I could call precision. πŸ™

knifemaker, with all respect to your abilities & experience. The work you do on your knifes is super duper precise for us & I really wish to make products of that caliber one day but lack of proper machineries, tools & guidence compels people like us to utilize the available stuff to the best of our needs.

With mentioned bench drill set up I am repairing & modyfying some of the best brands of PCPs like BSA superten, Walther 1250, Theobens & FXs etc. I am drilling most of my moderators for above mentioned airguns on the same. To add it all a stem’s transfer holes of 2mm dia for my upcoming PCP were also drilled on same machine.

Is it presice enough to carry out normal tinkering work on airguns? Only thing I do to achieve this is work real slow & make suitable jig for each job. Yes, it may not be the same level of perfection you can get with laser guided gizmos available at your end but it sure works precisely.

The one you saw is capable of doing precision work. Most of my final polishing & port extensions are done on this bench only. You too can achieve it after little practice.

Mistman is it hard to get tools there?

Hey Adam,

I have seen the models where you can attach a hand drill and thereby it does the job of a Bench press drill.

Though not 100% but pretty close….Ifs so then I can get it down here…..

Is it the one you saw at my home?

You can get a fairly good light bench top drill press at HF for under 50 bucks. They had them on sale a few months back with a hand tight (Key less) chuck. Heck, the chuck cost more than that!

Mike

Thanks Mate !!! But if I have to get it down here, that would cost me a fortune….

Would you know of any models without the motor

Just the frame without the drill which could be later attached like the dremel one shown in the link….???
