Q:

Super Quiet Condor SS 2013

I waited for 4 weeks for the Condor SS and when it came it was loud due to the hammer slap.
After a telephone conversation with Tony from Talon Tunes we put in the hammer modification and the gun was completely better sound wise.
The hammer noise was down by about 80 % and there was no noise from the report.
The next thing I did was put a solid o ring around the base of the top hat and used silicon grease to lubricate it well.
very very accurate, powerful and stealth

The slap hammer mod from Tony is very easy to place.
It replaces the cheap stock hammer with a solid brass one which has two heavy duty thickened o rings on each end.
When the trigger is pulled, the hammer slide backward releasing the compressed air that powers the pellet.
This results in the hammer slap sound which can be quite loud.
Apparently Air force wasn’t concerned about this noise but Tonys mod takes care of that sound nicely.
The other option is to place a thick o ring around the base of the top hat .
Together they quiet this super accurate and powerful air gun down almost to Marauder levels.
The woodchucks don’t hear the gun only the sound of your footsteps.
Buy it, install it and you will be very content with the silence and stealth.

Slap hammer makes the gun super quiet. The o-ring is not cut into the breech it is cut into the hammer face. In the past that is what the set up may have been but now it is a 95grain hammer. You may also want to get yourself a one piece Top Hat with inserts very nice lets you get more shots more consistent shots and also lets you shoot light pellets. Together the Mods are great.

The slap mod consists of placing some cushion between the hard hammer face and the hard breech to quiet the impact. Tony of TT cuts a groove in the breech and inserts an o-ring. Some DIYers will glue and trim a rubber fender washer to the back of the breech.

Damm i need to se a picture of that but i almos get it thanks !!! i appreciate !!! thanks !!

make sure if anyone buys a condor ss that the first thing you do is check the baffles. I was shooting my condor today and sighting it in and it had horrialble groups. so I called airforce and they told me to do a few things nothing worked. so I talked to rl airguns and he told me to check baffles. well randy was right I had a 177 cal baffle in a 22 cal condor causing this problem. thanks to rl airgun supply hes making it right for me, they are awesome and top notch people. I hope airforce quality control gets better…..god bless
