Sweet spot for the condor help
After owning a .25 condor with a 24″ barrel for a few months now I’m finally purchasing a chrony to find the fps for it, but I’m trying to figure out what the sweet spot should be at.
I was thinking it should be in the high 800’s low 900’s
Any good spot to go for?
Or
Do I just shoot until I find my best grouping?
Just trying to get a starting point 😀

Here you go… The above tune 🙂
On my condor .22 with the TT small insert in the top hat…
2600 psi fill… Perfect bell curve over 60 shots, beginning with 945 fps and ending with 942 fps… Standard deviation across the 60 shots is 13 fps… Peaks at 995 fps at shot 27.. Power wheel at 6.1, 14.3 grain test pellet.

I have one of his 1400 psi regs on a 72 cu in 3000 psi tank I run my 22xx off of via braided remote line.
The extreme spread is 2-3 fps with non sorted pellets.
My ‘plan’ is to have one spin lock tank that’s regulated & set up for pellets in the LW barrel.
I will have another tank with one of Doug’s spin lock slug valves and a TJ .257 barrel from Doug for doing ‘heavy’ work.
More stuff to play with and spend money on! LOL

sweet spot 950-960fps and between 2200psi-1700psi with stock Condor using 18.13 JSB Exact Jumbos Heavy Diabolo’s on my gun.
Awesome thanks for the input I had a feeling it was right around high 800’s low 900’s I will have to experiment with it as long as I’ve got a starting point and have an idea as to what to look for it’ll be a lot easier 😀

My Condor shooting the JSB’s at 920 and the Domes at 875. Any higher FPS in my gun with either pellet and the groups start to open up. Groups are done at my Condor’s zero of 50 yards.
JSB’s are my guns’ pellet of choice.
I know other shooter’s guns will have a higher FPS but this is what mine likes. 🙂

With a 3000 psi fill, try to find a spot on your adjuster that is pushing at 1000 fps.
Have a target with 10 or more bullseyes on it.
Shoot 5 shot groups for each bull and log the velocity of each shot and the tank psi reading start to finish for that group.
You should notice when your velocity string starts to flatline your groups should really tighten up.
Take note of your fill pressure and velocity.
Once these two data points are set, you can fine tune how much hammer you want hitting the valve.
Whatever the lowest hammer setting gets you to the desired velocity typically yeilds the best results.
It can be grueling but its fun
